Sony Pictures Acquires Remake Rights To French Box Office Hit ‘A Little Something Extra'

EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures has acquired English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic language remake rights to French box office sensation A Little Something Extra (Un P'tit Truc en Plus). A local breakout in 2024, the comedy was the No. 1 film of the year at home selling more than 10 million tickets in France. Globally, it has grossed $95 million to date with several more markets still to release. Of those, Sony has taken distribution rights for the U.S., Spain, Latin America and the Middle East. Release dates are to be determined. Originally released last May by Pan Distribution, A Little Something Extra was a hit with French audiences who gave it 4.1 out of 5 stars on Allo Ciné. Making his feature directing debut, popular actor and comedian Artus helmed A Little Something Extra and also stars with Clovis Cornillac and Alice Belaïdi. The rest of the cast is predominantly made up of youngsters with different types of disability. The movie, which received a César nomination for Best First Film, was produced by Thierry Wong and Pierre Forette from Cine Nominé. Written by Artus, Clement Marchand and Milan Mauger, it's based on an original idea by Artus. The remake deal was negotiated by Olivier Albou, co-founder of Other Angle Pictures, and by EVP, Creative Production & Head of Sony Pictures International Productions, Shebnem Askin.
