MSI unveils AMD Ryzen-powered Claw A8 gaming handheld at Computex 2025
Taiwanese electronics brand MSI has officially unveiled a new variant of its Claw A8 handheld gaming device at Computex 2025, this time powered by AMD's Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. The new model will offer up to 24GB of DDR5 RAM, slightly less than the 32GB available on the Intel-powered version. The AMD-powered Claw A8 BZ2EM marks MSI's entry into offering dual chipset options for its gaming handheld line-up. While the Intel version is already on the market, the AMD edition expands the line-up to give consumers more hardware flexibility. MSI has not yet disclosed pricing details or the expected launch date for the AMD version of the Claw A8. MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM: Details The MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM is a handheld gaming device equipped with some powerful hardware under the hood. According to a report by The Verge, MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM's core is the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, paired with an AMD Radeon 890M GPU. The system reportedly supports up to 24GB of RAM. The device is likely to feature an 8-inch full HD (1080p) display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. Storage options will reportedly include a single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot along with a microSD card reader, providing flexibility for expanding game libraries and media. According to the report, MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM will be shipped with a 80Wh battery and will run on Windows 11 Home, giving users access to a full desktop operating environment. Acer unveils Aspire AI Copilot+ laptops from AUD $1,399
Acer has announced the addition of new Copilot+ PC models to its Aspire AI laptop range, featuring 14- and 16-inch options powered by both AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series and Snapdragon X processors. The newly unveiled Aspire AI laptops are aimed at students, professionals, and families, with features intended to support productivity and collaboration. As Copilot+ PCs, they offer integrated AI-driven experiences such as Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and Improved Windows Search, designed to help users quickly resume tasks and locate information. Proprietary applications including AcerSense, Acer LiveArt 2.0, Acer PurifiedView 2.0, and Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 are included to facilitate system management, file sorting, content creation, and video conferencing enhancements. Representatives noted these devices are developed for those needing reliable performance and lasting battery life throughout the day. The Aspire 14 AI and Aspire 16 AI models feature an aluminium chassis that is thin, lightweight, and durable. Both models incorporate a 180° hinge, allowing them to lie flat or be positioned at varying angles for diverse use-cases such as travel, education, and remote work. Acer states that the devices are designed to operate for more than a full day on a single battery charge. The Aspire AI series is available with up to a 120 Hz display, slim bezels, and a 16:10 aspect ratio for wider viewing. Hardware specifications include up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 storage, and multiple connectivity options with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The devices also carry two USB Type-C and two USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and MicroSD card slots. Built with sustainability considerations, the models are EPEAT Gold registered and come packaged in recyclable materials. The Aspire 14 AI (A14-61M) and Aspire 16 AI (A16-61M) options with AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processors utilise "Zen 5" CPU architecture. They are intended to efficiently run local AI workloads, manage daily workflows, and provide improved device responsiveness without significant power demands. These laptops are paired with AMD Radeon integrated graphics and deliver displays with OLED options and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification. The Aspire 14 AI (A14-11M) and Aspire 16 AI (A16-11M) utilise the Snapdragon X platform, incorporating the Qualcomm Oryon CPU, Adreno GPU, and Hexagon NPU. The Aspire 14 AI (A14-61M) with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors is set to be available in Australia from Q3 2025, starting at AUD $1,499. The Aspire 16 AI (A16-11M) based on Snapdragon processors will launch from Q3 2025 at AUD $1,499 and NZD $1,999.
