The 2026 Lotus Emira range has been launched in Europe and the UK with technical upgrades and new colours. Check Offers Lotus Cars launched the Emira lineup in India as recently as January this year, and the British marque has already introduced updates to its no-frills mid-engine sports car. The 2026 Lotus Emira range has been launched in Europe and the UK, featuring technical upgrades that improve its performance and daily rideability. In addition to the mechanical changes, the car gets two new colour options – EOS Green and Purple Haze metallic. Lotus says the 2026 Emira range brings a re-optimised cooling system that provides better flow to both the transmission oil cooler and the main cooling radiator. The rerouted cooling lines further reduce the car's weight, resulting in an incremental increase in performance. Aston Martin's New DBX S Improves the SUV the Old-Fashioned Way: More Power, Less Weight

The Aston Martin DBX 707 launched three years ago as a range-topping, ultra-performance version of the British luxury SUV. Clearly, it succeeded in this mission, what with the regular DBX being axed from the line-up soon afterwards. Now history is repeating, with a new, even-hotter DBX variant being slotted above the 707, although one that is less excitingly named. This is the new DBX S. To be fair, Aston has used "S" to indicate turned-up versions of its cars in the past, the first use being the 2005 Vanquish S. Company insiders say that S variants of Aston's other front-engined models will follow the DBX, all delivering on the same recipe of slightly more power and slightly less weight. Not that the DBX 707 has ever felt short on urge, thanks to its almighty 4.0-liter AMG-sourced twin-turbo V8. But while the 707's name refers to metric horsepower, and so translated into a slightly less impressive 697 hp, the DBX S is making the leap into genuine starts-with-a-7 territory. Larger turbochargers, as well as other internal engine improvements, have raised the peak to a claimed 717 hp. That hasn't significantly improved performance, though, with Aston's claimed 3.3-second 0-62 mph time being identical to that of the DBX 707, as is the 193 mph top speed. We always find it a little hard to take lightweight options on SUVs seriously, but buyers who specify all of those available on the DBX S will be rewarded by a 103-pound reduction in mass – although with the resulting S still tipping the scales at a sizeable 4846 pounds, according to Aston's numbers. That figure works out to be almost exactly two Mazda MX-5 Miatas. Getting the lightest possible DBX S will require a buyer to select an optional carbon fiber roof and foregoing roof rails (saving 40 pounds), optional 23-inch magnesium alloy wheels (saving 42 pounds) and choosing carbon for the side sill protectors, tailgate wing, rear bumper and diffuser (collectively saving 15 pounds.) Add those together and you're left with only six pounds of difference over the DBX unaccounted for, so the base weight of both cars is close to identical. Aston does say that the new radiator grille can be specified with a 'bespoke lightweight polycarbonate honeycomb' finish, which also trims mass a little. Aston claims punchier responses for the DBX S's standard nine-speed automatic gearbox, this being an AMG-sourced unit with a wet clutch instead of a torque converter. It now has higher change-up points and more aggressive downshifts in Sport and Sport Plus dynamic modes. Other mechanical specification is shared with the 2024-spec DBX 707, with the same suspension settings for air springs, adaptive dampers and the active anti-roll system - although the DBX S gets a faster-acting steering rack to sharpen front-end responses. While it's hard to accuse any DBX of being subtle, visual changes between the 707 and the S are restrained. Beyond the new grille and S branding on the front fenders, the most obvious change is at the back, with a new rear bumper featuring a pair of vertically stacked exhaust tailpipes on each side; the 707's sit next to each other. The DBX S is also available with the option of trim color for the front bumper and side sills, this available in red, silver and green. The DBX S will be reaching the U.S. later in the year.
