Former Trump aide Hope Hicks joins Megyn Kelly's media company
Hope Hicks, a former top aide to President Trump, is joining forces with Megyn Kelly to help the podcasting star grow her burgeoning media empire, The Post has learned. Hicks, 36, on Monday will be named chief operating officer of Kelly's Devil May Care Media, which includes 'The Megyn Kelly Show,' the morning news show 'AM Update with Megyn Kelly,' as well as the newly-launched MK Media, a network of shows from journalists and creators. 'Hope Hicks is exactly the kind of woman I want running my company with me — strong, smart, strategic and the embodiment of class and poise,' Kelly said in a statement obtained exclusively by The Post. AP 'She's at the top of a growing media conglomerate and there's no limit to where she can take it; my best-in-the-business staff and I are thrilled to have her on board.' Hicks will report to Kelly and lead business development for Devil May Care, which was launched by the conservative media star in 2020. 'I am incredibly humbled and thrilled to be joining Megyn and her team in continuing to build what is undoubtedly a flourishing business.' 5 Megyn Kelly tapped Hicks to help with the business development of her burgeoning media company. Devil May Care Media 'The Megyn Kelly Show' launched as an audio-only podcast in September 2020, before partnering with SiriusXM in 2021 to become a live, daily radio show and expand to video. Advertisement It is now one of the most-consumed independent shows in the nation – a top program on both Apple and Spotify podcast charts, with a YouTube channel that has over 3.7 million subscribers. Content from the show gets hundreds of millions of views per month across all platforms, with millions of followers on Instagram, TikTok, and X, among other social platforms, the company said. In March, Devil May Care announced the launch of MK Media with new shows hosted by journalist and 2Way founder Mark Halperin, Daily Mail culture columnist Maureen Callahan, who had previously worked for The Post, and influencer and political commentator Link Lauren. 5 Kelly's namesake show has consistently topped the podcast charts on Apple and Spotify. Hicks, who worked for the Trump Organization before serving as press secretary for Trump's first White House campaign in 2016, has been running her own media consulting company the past four years The Greenwich, Conn., native was hired as the White House communications director following the Republican's stunning victory over Hillary Clinton and became one of Trump's most trusted advisers. She stepped down in 2018 but returned in 2020 to serve as counselor to the president until 2021. Advertisement Kelly first got to know Hicks during Trump's first run to the White House. The anchor famously traded barbs with him in 2015 while moderating a GOP presidential debate for Fox News. She pressed the then-longshot Republican candidate about misogynistic, sexist comments he made in the past, such as calling some women 'fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.' The heated exchange led to Trump's notorious comment to Don Lemon, who was then an anchor at CNN, telling him that Kelly had 'blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her… wherever.' Smith on his Sirius show about how she's been able to 'check' her 'personal feelings' about Trump and that she's '100% rooting' for the president.

Megyn Kelly's Career Advice To Women Stirs Up Fierce Backlash From Her Own Base
Megyn Kelly found herself on the receiving end of criticism from a somewhat unlikely demographic this week after her viral take on professional women who are also raising families. 'Ladies, it is possible to make your own money, have your own career, pay for your own swanky nyc apartment (etc), AND find a man who loves you, wants to have & raise kids w/you & wants to be w/you and only you,' the former Fox News host wrote on X, formerly Twitter. 'The only thing stopping you? Your decision to settle for less.' Ladies, it is possible to make your own money, have your own career, pay for your own swanky nyc apartment (etc), AND find a man who loves you, wants to have & raise kids w/you & wants to be w/you and only you. The only thing stopping you? Your decision to settle for less. — Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) February 17, 2025 Kelly quickly came under fire from a number of other high-profile conservatives ― some of whom identified themselves as fans of her work ― who argued that her stance was patronizing, unrealistic and downright 'cringe,' particularly coming from someone with a reported net worth of $45 million. 'I'm a month out from giving birth and I have a toddler. I can assure you, I'm not in boss babe mode,' Stephanie Hamill, a former One America News commentator, wrote on X. 'I'm surviving, even with house help.' 'I remember Megyn admitting she doesn't cook during a Thanksgiving show episode, (so what do they eat?) does her husband cook? Do they eat take out frequently? Private chef etc…,' Hamill continued. 'This type of post puts very unrealistic pressures on most mothers…' Another reply that received high engagement was that of Colorado-based business owner Jeanna Hoch, who wrote: 'Not wanting to be a boss babe is not settling for less. My kids were raised by me, not a nanny or daycare. It's ok to find a man who wants to provide for his family.' A number of men chimed in with MAGA talking points, too. 'This is the exact mentality creating an epidemic of single and childless women,' an X user identified as 'Sovereign Brah' wrote. It isn't clear what prompted Kelly's post, though it preceded the Wednesday launch of her new podcast, 'AM Update with Megyn Kelly.' Others interpreted her remarks as a response to conservative author and influencer Ashley St. Clair's bombshell announcement last week naming Elon Musk as the father of her 5-month-old child. As of Wednesday, Musk had not publicly acknowledged St. Clair's claim, which, if true, would make him the father of at least 13 children with at least four different women.
