The Crown star's 'gripping' murder mystery is streaming for free this weekend

The Crown star Emma Corrin plays a Gen Z amateur detective in psychological thriller A Murder at the End of the World The Crown star Emma Corrin is almost unrecognisable in a "captivating" new mystery series set to premiere next week. Emma, who notably played Diana Spencer in the hit Netflix series, leads the cast of psychological thriller A Murder at the End of the World. ‌ The seven-part miniseries originally premiered back in November 2023, but will land on ITVX this weekend (Sunday, 25th May) for anyone who missed it. ‌ The seven-part miniseries revolves around Darby Hart, a Gen Z amateur detective and tech-savvy hacker played by Emma. She, along with eight other guests, is invited by a reclusive billionaire to a retreat at a remote and stunning location. "When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life," the synopsis continues. A Murder at the End of the World was created, written and directed by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, who also served as executive producers, reports Surrey Live. Joining Emma and co-creator Brit in the star-studded cast are Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad and Pegah Ferydoni. The impressive ensemble is completed by Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson and Neal Huff. ‌ Sasha Breslau, ITV's Head of Content Acquisitions, said in a statement: "Emma Corrin captivates alongside co-creator Brit Marling and Clive Owen in this compelling mystery drama. "We're delighted to bring this premium miniseries to audiences at ITVX." ‌ A Murder at the End of the World garnered widespread acclaim following its initial release and was even listed as one of 2023's top TV shows by various publications. The drama currently boasts an impressive 89% critics rating on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. The Independent said: "In its simpler moments, A Murder at the End of the World is a gripping, pacy thriller. It navigates its way through a century of detective influences, from Conan Doyle to Gillian Flynn, with an agility that leaves it never less than wholly watchable." Rolling Stone called it "a riveting murder mystery", while The Guardian praised the plot lines as "stylish" and "outstanding". Viewers also praised the series, with one IMDb user writing: "I love this show. It combines many intriguing elements, crime, thriller, technology and romance, with every twist and turn keeping you guessing and on the edge of your seat." A Murder at the End of the World will be available to stream on ITVX from Sunday, May 25
