NTR Collector highlights role of yoga in stress relief, better decision making

VIJAYAWADA: NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha on Sunday emphasised the importance of yoga in reducing work-related stress and improving decision-making among government employees. Speaking at a special yoga session held on BRTS Road near Sarada College as part of the month-long Yogandhra campaign, he urged government staff to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for better physical and mental health. 'It is natural to face stress while delivering public services. Yoga offers a powerful means to overcome it and deliver better results,' he said. 'Every government office should have space for yoga practice.' He added that under the guidance of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Yogandhra aims to train 15 lakh people across in NTR, with government employees playing a key role. The event was organised by the District AYUSH Department and the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. Leaders and members of APNGO and ICASA associations joined the Collector in yoga session, which marked the second day of theme-based yoga and the fifth day of celebrations. APNGO State General Secretary A Vidyasagar described yoga and meditation as India's invaluable heritage, now embraced worldwide. He announced immediate financial support of `10,000 to trainer B Sirisha for promoting artistic yoga among underprivileged students.

NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha asked government employees to practice yoga every day to relieve stress. The Collector participated in the Yogandhra programme, along with Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGOA) JAC leaders and members, at BRTS Road, here on Sunday. 'Government employees should do yoga and meditation to maintain physical fitness, implement the schemes perfectly and render justice to the beneficiaries,' Mr. Lakshmisha said. APNGO State general secretary A. Vidya Sagar said that yoga and meditation display India's culture and are followed by many countries across the world. He thanked the Ayush, Medical and Health, Revenue and other department officials for organising the programme. APNGO leaders D. Satyanarayana, V.V. Prasad, P. Ramesh, C.V.R. Prasad and others participated.

NGOs body demands formation of PRC

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (AP NGO) Association State Executive has resolved here on Tuesday urging the State government to immediately address the issues faced by government employees. The demands include promptly setting up a Pay Revision Commission for salary revisions, approving at least one instalment of the three pending Dearness Allowances (DA), and increasing the retirement age for employees of Gurukul schools and public sector organisations. Association State president KV Siva Reddy and General Secretary A Vidyasagar informed the media about the details of the Executive meeting. KV Siva Reddy emphasised that the state government should focus on resolving employees' issues. As per decisions taken at the AP JAC meeting on March 17, a memorandum with 14 demands was submitted to the state government. On April 19, a meeting was held with the Chief Secretary to discuss the fulfilment of these demands. As a result, the State government responded by depositing Rs 6,300 crore, facilitating payments for GPF, APGLI, group insurance, medical reimbursement, and CPS. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the Chief Secretary. AP NGO State General Secretary A. Vidyasagar highlighted that during the previous government's tenure approximately Rs 30,000 crore in dues remained pending.
