I work on A Place In The Sun and will never forget my absolutely awful experience that left the whole Channel 4 team CRUSHED

In her 20 years hosting A Place In The Sun, presenter Jasmine Harman has seen her fair share of chaos. The sun-soaked property search show, first aired in 2000, has had Jasmine as one of its primary hosts since 2004. She has helped hundreds of clients find their dream home abroad on the Channel 4 programme over the years - including her own cousin. And she even made her own big move in 2023, relocating from England to the Spanish town of Estepona with her husband Jon and children Albion and Joy. But things have not always been smooth sailing for the presenter, 49, who recently told the Express about one particularly awful experience she had on the show. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jasmine revealed she once presented an episode which saw a house hunter find their dream home among the options she selected. As fans of the show will know, finding the right property for the buyers - who often have big dreams and a specific vision - is not always a guarantee, so she was elated to have been successful. But it all came crashing down when, as she helped the guest make an offer on the property, Jasmine was told the horrifying news it had already been sold to someone else. Having not previously been informed about this, she said everyone - herself, the buyer and the whole Channel 4 team - was 'crushed'. She explained: 'It was just absolutely awful. 'Can you imagine? You're just on the cusp of making that amazing life-changing decision and someone pulls the rug out from under you. It was horrible.' While the buyer was the one hurt in that particular episode, Jasmine added they can sometimes be the ones who cause the hassle in other cases. The host remembered some particular guests on the show who refused to even step foot inside a property she had chosen for them, in Co Mayo, Ireland. Even after she then pointed out it was the only freehold property within their budget, they still refused to take a look. Jasmine also confessed that it frustrates her sometimes when buyers get obsessive over extremely small details. She pointed to a recent episode where a couple declared a penthouse unlivable - just because of the cost of re-tiling the balcony, which they hated the terracotta colour of. The presenter said: 'Sometimes people get a bee in their bonnet about weird things.' She tried to give them the advice she forced herself to consider when buying her own property abroad - that buyers always have to make compromises, no matter their budget. When relocating her family to Spain's Costa del Sol, Jasmine did not have the budget for a newbuild - so had to throw herself into renovations to bring her vision to life. The TV personality will share her property transformation journey on a dedicated TV series set to hit screens later this year. Ahead of the big release, she offered prospective buyers an initial word of wisdom - which was not to look for perfection as it does not really exist. She explained: 'You might find a place that's not perfect but will do perfectly.' These confessions are not Jasmine's first chaotic revelations about her two-decade stint on A Place In The Sun. The presenter described last month a particularly 'awful' incident during filming, which saw her suffer motion sickness during a ride on a microlight plane in the Algarve. 'We were flying and he was doing all of these little tricks and I got a bit of motion sickness and I started to feel a bit dodgy', she recalled to the Express. 'I kept telling myself, "I'll be alright, I'll be alright,".' When the plane landed, Jasmine felt terrible - and amid the wave of nausea, she could not get her helmet off. She continued: 'I ended up vomiting inside the helmet. And it was so embarrassing. In front of the house hunters and this handsome pilot. The whole team.' The presenter described it as 'an awful moment' as 'everyone was there' - but she is now able to laugh about it instead.

EXCLUSIVE A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton reveals she went on a date with Shaggy - and he made her pay!

Laura Hamilton has revealed that she once went on a date with Shaggy - and he made her pay! The A Place In The Sun presenter, 43, who split from husband Alex Goward, 44, in 2022 after a decade of marriage, shared details about her dating life in a new interview on Friday. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Laura confirmed that she was still single and having fun as she recalled a surprise date from over 20 years ago. Recounting meeting up with Shaggy, she explained: 'I met him for coffee and I had to pay for it. It was at Heathrow airport. 'I'd been working with him, and he said, 'I really want to meet up with you and talk about work opportunities.'' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Confirming that he made up a song and sang it to her, she continued: 'God, that was over 20 years ago. I'm not sure he'd recognise me now.' Adding of her dating life now, Laura said: 'I'm busy working and dating and having fun, and I prefer to find people naturally rather than being on dating apps. 'I like to go out and meet people who have common interests. I made a decision going forward that I want to keep that aspect of my life private. 'I think it's really important that if I'm dating people - and I have been dating people - if they're not in the public eye, then they have a right to privacy. 'Just because I'm in the public eye – you never know what their job is, and they might need privacy for security reasons, and so I'm always mindful of that.' Laura shares two children Rocco, 12, and Tahlia, 10, with her ex-husband Alex, they split after 13 years together. In a statement at the time, she wrote: 'This isn't something I ever thought I'd be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated. 'Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.' She has been a presenter on A Place in the Sun since 2012 and regularly posts pictures from her sun drenched holidays and filming trips on Instagram. Laura also explained that her time on the Channel 4 show has seen her through so many life changes, notably her engagement, the births of her children and her divorce. The former Dancing On Ice star described feeling like she had 'failed' amid their separation, which saw Laura move out of the couple's Surrey family home. She said: 'We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed.'

A Place In The Sun fans say 'poor Jasmine' as buyers walk away from property search

More info A Place In The Sun's Jasmine Harman earned praise for her patience after a particularly taxing episode had viewers branding the property-seeking pair as 'time-wasters'. The Channel 4 TV programme saw Scouser Lisa, who works as a civil servant, drafting in Jasmine to help her find the perfect holiday home in the sunny climes of southern Alicante, accompanied by her father Stephen. With £65,000 to play with, Lisa was looking for a two-bedroom abode within walking distance to bars and restaurants, complete with a communal swimming area. "I absolutely love Spain, I love the lifestyle," she enthused. "I love Sundays where everything shuts down - I'm excited." However, her enthusiasm was short-lived, reports the Express. (Image: (Image: Channel 4)) Their initial viewing, a £66,000 apartment complete with a balcony and shared pool, received a tepid response; Stephen remarked that the pool "could be a little bit bigger," and Lisa felt it had "potential" but was unconvinced by its dimensions. It soon became evident the search would not be plain sailing. Even Jasmine sensed difficulties ahead, saying: "I have a feeling this house hunt might be trickier than I had initially anticipated." And indeed, it proved to be tougher. Stephen found the second option "too small" and though the third property showed some promise, Lisa wasn't thrilled, citing nearby building work as a detractor. Despite expressing some interest in both the second and ultimate listings, she decided not to put forward an offer. Despite Lisa's friendly and optimistic demeanour, some viewers expressed their discontent on social media platform X. One user vented: "One of the worst timewasters of late. Absolutely useless". (Image: Channel 4) Another user sympathised with Jasmine, saying: "Poor poor Jasmine - she deserves a medal after putting up with these two," and added that the couple seemed to be intentionally looking for flaws in each property. Other viewers shared similar sentiments, posting: "That's an hour of our lives we won't get back," and "Just drop these two back at the airport and get the news on!" However, not all reactions were negative. One viewer appreciated Lisa's candid nature, posting: "Love this girl's honesty. #aplaceinthesun."

After work dried up, the couple moved lock stock and barrel to Europe with their daughter Millie. Initially, things on A New Life in the Sun: Where Are They Now?, went well for the couple. The pair managed to get their huge home up to scratch ready to welcome guests for a bed and breakfast escape. However, they bought the empty plot of land next door as they planned to build a state-of-the-art bungalow for Ellie's mum Linda. Although work started on the new home, it soon came to a standstill as the couple engaged in a battle with the local authorities. They were left frustrated by all the bureaucracy as they didn't get the correct planning permission on the A Place In The Sun spin-off. Ellie said: "We've been focusing on the planning for mum's house, which it finally came through." While Gary admitted: "Yep, it didn't go according to plan like we knew it would and it was all paperwork." They thought the job would only take a few months, but they were wrangling with the system for over a year. The duo were left fuming about the progress of the home as they showed the camera their bulging file of documents. Ellie explained: "That's the building visa that says we could build. But then you've got documents.
