UPDATE ON THE WEEKEND STORM…

Low pressure approaches TODAY-SATURDAY with some snow developing toward daybreak. Snow can accumulate 1-4″ from west to east across the area before it starts to change to rain from west to east across the area during the afternoon. By evening most of the area is receiving rain. SATURDAY NIGHT we get a soaking rain with temps. staying above the freezing mark in most areas, creating a sloppy, slushy mess by Sunday morning. There could be some sleet and freezing rain before midnight in the mountains of Chautauqua, Warren & McKean counties. SUNDAY we start out wet, but then colder air starts to wrap in around the storm from the west and the rain changes to snow from late morning/noon time in Erie and points west to mid to late afternoon in the mountains to the east. Another 2-5″ is possible Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. Winds will be strong on Sunday as well with temps falling into the 20s later in the day. This may likely make for some slippery driving conditions Sunday afternoon and evening. ARCTIC AIR POURS IN SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY AND FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. We could have some lake-effect snow on Monday with bitterly cold highs in the teens expected through much of the week and overnight lows in the single digits to zero. Orlando weather: Cold air surges in Sunday night, few light showers expected Monday morning

ORLANDO, Fla. - TONIGHT: Keeping clouds around for the rest of the overnight as the cold air starts to surge in. That could bring a few light showers into the morning commute tomorrow. Highs today rise back into the Lows TANK back into the 30s and 40s heading into early Monday. MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies with temperatures starting in the 40s. Clouds start to thin out tomorrow afternoon, but temperatures will stay chilly in the mid 50s. WINTER WEATHER IN FLORIDA - PM TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY : A low pressure system will start to organize off the coast of Texas, picking up moisture with the warm air from the gulf. This will interact with the ARCTIC air surging down into the Southeast from this weekend's cold front and bring the potential for snow and freezing rain into the deep south and Florida. Areas of our WOGX counties could see the potential for icing and freezing rain. Still too early to really pinpoint how far south the freezing potential will be at the moment, but be prepared for roads to be VERY SLICK up the I-75 corridor. 7-DAY FORECAST:
