DGP gives 1-month deadline to fix policing gaps in Patna
Patna: Amid rising crime incidents in Patna district, state director general of police (DGP)
Vinay Kumar
and ADG (headquarters) Kundan Krishnan held a high-level review meeting at the City SP (east) office on Saturday afternoon.
The two-and-a-half-hour session focused on improving policing in the region.
Officials including ASPs, SDPOs and DSPs from the eastern region were present, presenting status reports on criminal incidents and action taken. The DGP pointed out several gaps in policing and issued a one-month deadline for officers to implement corrective measures.
"We reviewed various aspects of policing, including pending cases, execution of warrants, patrolling efficiency, and the speed of trials.
Gaps were identified and plans for improvement put in place," said ADG Kundan Krishnan after the meeting. He added that a follow-up review would be conducted in a month to evaluate progress.
Regarding a recent incident on Atal Path, the ADG said the people involved were not hardened criminals. "They panicked during a vehicle check, which led to them attempting to run over police personnel," he said.
The meeting was also attended by central range IG Garima Malik, SSP Avkash Kumar and city SP (east) K Ram Das.
