Wellington Airport Releases Financial Results
Press Release – Wellington Airport Strong performance across all areas of the business produced an EBITDAF of $130.2 million, up from last years $107.1 million. Wellington Airport has today announced its financial results for the 12 months to 31 March 2025, highlighted by solid earnings and the commencement of transformational upgrades. International passenger volume growth of 7.4% underpinned the strong performance despite a slight reduction in domestic passengers relating to airline fleet availability issues which have constrained capacity across the network. In this period the airport hosted 5.3 million passengers, a slight decrease from last year's 5.4 million, and achieved a net profit after tax of $25.8 million. Strong performance across all areas of the business produced an EBITDAF of $130.2 million, up from last year's $107.1 million. Wellington Airport chief executive Matt Clarke comments: 'We are pleased with the year's results given some well-known headwinds, most notably domestic fleet availability issues which worsened this year and are expected to remain a challenge for the next 12 months. 'The last year has seen many milestones for Wellington Airport as we've worked carefully with our airline partners to confirm our infrastructure development programme for the next five years. 'The signs of this plan taking shape are visible all around the airport, including the terminal and retail improvements underway, newly opened carpark, runway upgrades in progress, the new Airport Fire Station getting its finishing touches and our stunning new brand. 'Winning the 'Airport of the Year' award was a fitting end to 2024, but the best is yet to come.' Other highlights from the 2024/25 financial year include: New brand launched 37% increase in seats operated to Brisbane First Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) shipment received Number one for overall customer satisfaction amongst Australasian airports in ASQ survey's last two quarters Achieved Level 4+ Airport Carbon Accreditation 20th anniversary of Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards Celebrated our 65th anniversary Winner of 2024 Airport of the Year award – NZ Airports (large category) Notes Last year's NPAT loss was impacted by the Government's removal of tax depreciation on commercial buildings which had a one-off impact on Wellington Airport alongside many other New Zealand businesses. Aeronautical revenue has increased due to entering a new pricing period (PSE5). Airline charges are set in five-year periods after consultation with our airline customers and are reviewed by the Commerce Commission.

Indore slips to fourth spot among best airports of India: ASQ survey
Indore: Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport has slipped to the fourth position among the top airports in India during the first quarter of 2025 (Jan to March). Indore airport was second in the ranking in the final quarter of previous year. Despite once holding the top spot, Indore airport struggled to improve its ranking in passenger amenities. With a score of 4.94, Trichy Airport secured the top position, followed by Goa in second and Kolkata in third place. Indore airport failed to meet expectations in passenger facilities during the first quarter of this year. Lower scores across several parameters led to its compromise at the fourth position in the national ranking of best airports, according to the recently released Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey report. In the first ASQ survey report of the year, Goa, Kolkata, Indore, and Pune airports all received an identical score of 4.92. In such cases, the ranking is determined based on the Asia Pacific rankings. In the Asia Pacific region, Goa was ranked 56th, Kolkata 57th, Indore 58th, and Pune 59th, leading to Indore's fourth place in national ranking despite the equal score. This was the second consecutive quarter where Trichy Airport held the top rank. In 2024, Indore Airport's rankings were 12th in both the first and second quarters, improving to fourth in the third quarter and then second in the final quarter. The airport management stated that continuous improvements are being made to the facilities and the impact will be visible in the upcoming quarters. Indore airport secured the 10th rank in the annual survey for 2024, with a score of 4.92 out of 5. This ranking was influenced by its performance outside the top 10 in the initial two quarters. Subsequently, the airport enhanced its facilities, reaching the top 5 in the last two quarters of the year.

Kolkata airport aces service quality test, jumps 15 places on global list
Kolkata: In a significant stride towards regaining pre-pandemic glory, Kolkata airport has achieved its highest quarterly ranking since Covid-19 disrupted global travel. According to the latest Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by the Airports Council International (ACI), the city airport soared from the 72nd position in the Oct-Dec 2024 quarter to the 57th place in Jan-March 2025. The improvement reflects favourable responses across key parameters, including ease of making connections with flights, walking distance inside the airport terminal, retail outlet standards, availability of charging stations and reduced queueing time at security and check-in counters. With an impressive score of 4.92 out of 5, Kolkata outperformed the global average of 4.3, signalling a strong comeback and setting a new internal benchmark. Among the 16 Airports Authority of India (AAI)-operated airports included in the survey, Kolkata showed the most dramatic improvement, outshining its earlier post-pandemic best ranking of 64, achieved in early 2023. Only two Indian airports — Trichy (54) and Goa (56) — managed to edge out Kolkata in the latest global ratings. "We are proud to see the positive response from passengers. Their appreciation is truly meaningful to us. We're optimistic that these efforts will lead to even higher ratings. With this continued focus, we aim to further elevate the passenger experience and strengthen our standing in industry assessments," said airport director Pravat Ranjan Beuria. The airport officials acknowledged the feedback and stressed that corrective actions were already underway. "New washrooms are being built, more seats are being added, and old carpets are being replaced with modern epoxy flooring to elevate the airport's look and feel," an airport spokesperson confirmed. "We're confident that these upgrades will reflect in even better ratings next quarter." The strong performance also aligns with the govt's goal of achieving a minimum ASQ score of 4.7, a target set for the 2019–20 fiscal year. Except for Port Blair and Coimbatore, all participating airports — including Kolkata — have now surpassed that benchmark.
