Coldplay's Huge Week On The Charts

For several weeks now, Coldplay's star has been on the rise. The group's decades-old song 'Sparks' recently went viral, and frame after frame, the tune climbs higher and higher on rankings all around the world. Thanks to the surprise success of the album cut, paired with a seemingly never-ending saga connected to one moment on the kiss cam at one of the band's concerts, Coldplay is enjoying an exciting surge in popularity. This week, the Grammy winning outfit brings several huge hits back to a variety of tallies as consumption of all things Coldplay is on the rise. Three Coldplay Songs Become Streaming Wins Again In the U.K., where the musicians remain some of the most famous of all time, six different tracks by Coldplay appear on the charts. Almost all of them manage to live on several tallies at once, thanks to strong streaming numbers and, for some, a healthy sales sum. All but one of those tunes reappear on at least one list. A trio of Coldplay cuts finds their way back to the Official Streaming chart, which ranks the most played tunes of any style on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others in the country. 'The Scientist' is the biggest comeback at the moment as it reenters at No. 81. Just three spaces further south, 'Sparks' not only breaks back onto the Official Streaming list, but reaches a new peak position of No. 84, only three frames into its lifespan on the list. 'A Sky Full of Stars' narrowly finds space on the roster again, coming in at No. 98. 'Yellow' Returns to the Main Singles Ranking 'Yellow' soars 20 spots on the Official Streaming tally, and that uptick in plays appears to have been enough to push it back to the main list of the most consumed songs in the U.K. The early Coldplay track can now be found at No. 86 on the Official Singles chart, where it joins both 'Viva La Vida' and 'Sparks.' 'All My Love' is a Bestseller Again Coldplay also mounts a return on the Official Physical Singles chart. 'All My Love' jumps back onto the roster at No. 98, coming in third to last place after once peaking in the runner-up spot. That's the only tally where the sweet tune appears, and 'All My Love' is the only Coldplay release to land on the ranking of the bestselling cuts available on any physical format at the moment. 'Viva La Vida' Leaps Up Several Charts This week, 'Viva La Vida' — one of Coldplay's most famous smashes — doesn't need to return to any list, but it does grow. The track jumps more than 10 spaces north on both the Official Singles and Official Streaming charts, settling in at Nos. 83 and 61, respectively.

Lionel Messi, wife Antonela Roccuzzo 'caught' on Coldplay 'Kiss Cam'

Lionel Messi and his wife get the Coldplay spotlight, not like that other couple. Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, were briefly serenaded by Coldplay during a concert in Miami on Sunday, July 27. Messi and his wife attended the show at Hard Rock Stadium, and found themselves in the spotlight – far from that one viral Coldplay moment. Coldplay x MessiNo words, no interviews — just greatness.#Messi #Coldplay #GOAT #InterMiami #ASkyFullOfStars "Well, Leo, my beautiful brother. You and your wife are looking so fine," Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sang. "Thanks for coming today, to see our band play. The No. 1 sports person of all time." Messi, who doesn't speak English, appeared to understand Coldplay's tribute. He smiled, waved and clapped in response with his arm around his wife. They attended the concert with their three sons Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro. Messi, the Argentine World Cup champion playing with Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, returns to action on Wednesday, July 30, when his team begins the 2025 Leagues Cup tournament against Mexican club Atlas at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Is Mercury Retrograde Behind ‘Coldplay Cheating'? Astrology Warns Period Will Be ‘Embarrassing'

Astronomers believe that Mercury Retrograde is the time when things go off the rails. You send the wrong emails and communication issues just won't seem to stop A Coldplay concert is supposed to be an experience of a lifetime, right? Swaying in the arms of your partner as Chris Martin sings A Sky Full Of Stars, sets the perfect romantic atmosphere one can ask for. But one such Coldplay concert in Massachusetts turned into a nightmare for two individuals. By now, you must be aware of the names — Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company's HR, Kristin Cabot. The two, allegedly having an affair, were sharing an intimate moment at the stadium when a jumbotron put the duo in the spotlight, resulting in an awkward situation. But with that being said, is it simply an unfortunate coincidence or did the stars have a little fun with the universe? As per astrologer Aliza Kelly, the 'drama in the air" is the direct result of Mercury retrograde, which happens in the Leo zodiac sign. During this phase, 'expect life to get a little more annoying: tech glitches, scheduling mix-ups, delayed flights, and a whole lot of miscommunication," she warns. What Is Mercury Retrograde Mercury goes into 'retrograde" when Earth overtakes the planet in its orbit, making it seem that Mercury is moving in the reverse direction in the sky, although in reality it is still moving forward in its orbit. This happens because Mercury orbits the Sun much faster than Earth does. Mercury completes a full orbit in just 88 days, compared to Earth, which completes an orbit in 365 days. During this time, Mercury appears to slow down and move backward — a phenomenon that astronomers call retrograde motion Astronomers believe that Mercury Retrograde is the time when things go off the rails. You send the wrong emails, cellphones die without warning, communication issues just won't seem to stop and as per Aliza Kelly 'you show up at the wrong place or say the exact wrong thing at the worst possible time. It feels like you are living a bad day over and over again. This phase can make situations unpredictable, messy and embarrassing. Although be assured that your life will not be ruined, the planets are going to teach you some lessons, especially staying humble. How To Navigate As per astrologers, panicking is not a solution during Mercury Retrograde. You need to have patience and, most importantly, take a breath. It is that time when you need to slow down, think before rushing something and resist the temptation to overreact. view comments First Published: July 18, 2025, 15:36 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Amanda Holden debuts live show golden buzzer, revealing first 2025 finalist

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has sent Swiss dance troupe The Blackouts straight through to the grand finale after debuting the live show golden buzzer. The first semi-final live show of the 2025 series of ITV reality contest took place at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London on Saturday. Advertisement The real-time broadcasts are voted on by the viewers, with the judges Simon Cowell, Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli, giving their opinions. At the outset of Saturday's episode, Geordie presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed that Holden has been given the 'first' live show golden buzzer power, so she can send a contestant straight through to the final. The Blackouts performed, showing off their dance and acrobatic act featuring LED-created shapes on stage and a person appearing to get lifted into the air holding balloons, to a melody of songs including Galantis' Runaway (U & I) and Coldplay's A Sky Full Of Stars. Dixon said the group 'make people smile', and 'feel good', while Holden faced loud chants from the audience to give them the golden buzzer. Advertisement Before awarding it to them, Holden said 'my heart sores for you', while Cowell said they 'were the kind of act I believe can win the series this year'. The show also saw the presenters apologising for child magician Teddy Magic, eight, needing more time to come on stage, and Cowell fill time by making criticisms about the rock n'roll dinosaur act. It was later revealed that Teddy would be sitting the live show out, and the presenters said there is hope he would return to the programme later in the series. Instead of the magic act, Vinnie McKee – who won Cowell's 2025 golden buzzer – took the slot, singing Chasing Cars from Snow Patrol in his operatic style. Advertisement Following voting, Scottish singer McKee was revealed as the winner of the first 2025 live semi-final and was told he is through to the finale. Donnelly later said there was 'a technical issue' that was delaying the semi-final, and chatted with the judges while that was sorted. Judges, Amanda Holden (left) and Alesha Dixon (Ian West/PA) Also performing was Japanese act Akira Ohashi, whose routine included hiding his bottom half nudity with plates that bore the faces of the judges, and American horror-themed act Auzzy Blood. Blood returned to the stage after his debut on BGT attracted hundreds of complaints. Advertisement His latest act saw him using his nostrils to thrown heavyweights around the stage, and using several sharp objects in a sword swallowing act. Holden said it 'turned my stomach', and said she 'couldn't imagine' the King having to see the grotesque horror show at the Royal Variety Performance. Nudist Ohashi, Blood and Jurassic rockers Heavysaurus were sent home, after failing to thrill the audience at home. Zimbabwean singer Linda Mudzenda, who lives in Bedford, and South Korean magician Eden Choi also placed in the top, but were not put through to the finale. Advertisement Britain's Got Talent's 18th season began earlier this year, with the show seeing a number of different styles of performers compete for a chance to star in the Royal Variety Performance and win a cash prize. Previous winners have included singer Susan Boyle, dance act Diversity and dog act Ashleigh And Pudsey. The show will return to ITV and ITVX next Saturday at 7pm.
