Suspect charged in his brother's homicide: Austin Police

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police said its officers arrested a man after a June 6 shooting at a north Austin residence, according to a press release. APD also identified the victim as Warren Stewart, 36, in the release. Tevin Stewart, 31, is charged with first-degree murder. He and Warren were brothers and both lived at the Halifax Drive residence, APD said. KXAN reached out to Tevin's attorney for his response to the charge. The release notes that Austin-Travis County EMS medics arrived at the scene around 10:28 p.m. on June 6. ATCEMS called APD after realizing that a shooting had occurred. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said one person was found dead in north Austin late Friday night after a 911 caller asked for help and then hung up. According to APD, the call came in around 10:55 p.m. with an address in the 9800 block of Halifax Drive, which is near Dessau Road and East Runberg Lane. APD said 911 attempted a callback, but no one answered. Austin-Travis County EMS arrived at the scene first and found a person with 'obvious trauma to their body,' according to APD. ATCEMS attempted life-saving measures, but the person died at the scene. When officers arrived, a person of interest was detained. That person was taken to APD headquarters for questioning. AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after crash that happened on East Riverside Drive in southeast Austin Saturday, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. The Austin Police Department and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the crash in the 2300 block of East Riverside Drive shortly before 4 p.m.. APD said on social media both directions were closed to drivers between Burton Drive and Willow Creek. One person was pronounced dead on the scene, according to ATCEMS medics. Additionally, one adult patient was transported to Dell Seton with not life-threatening injuries, and another person refused transport, medics said. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people were taken to an Austin hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a crash Sunday in southeast Travis County. Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the three-vehicle crash in the 6500 block of South US Highway 183 in southeast Travis County at approximately 9:49 p.m. That's near where US 183 intersects with Dee Gabriel Collins Road near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. According to ATCEMS, seven people were involved, and one person who was pinned in their vehicle was extricated and declared a trauma alert.
