Markapur: Prakasam district collector A Thameem Ansariya visited the Idupuru-1 Housing Colony, a rehabilitation colony for the ousters of the Pula Subbaiah Veligonda Project, and interacted with the beneficiaries on Wednesday. She directed the housing and municipal officials to expedite the completion of houses currently under construction. During her tour, the collector reviewed the progress of ongoing house construction work. Housing Project Director Srinivas Prasad briefed the collector on the current status of the housing project, revealing that while 2,310 houses have been sanctioned in the Idupuru-1 housing layout, only 154 houses have been completed so far. The remaining construction work is at various stages, with 37 houses at roof level, 430 houses at roof casting stage, and 519 houses at plinth level. Speaking during the inspection, the collector emphasised the need to create awareness among housing beneficiaries about the state government's additional financial assistance. She explained that beyond the standard unit value of Rs 1.80 lakh for house completion, the government is providing supplementary financial support of Rs 50,000 for SC and BC community house construction, Rs 75,000 for ST community construction, and Rs 1 lakh for PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) beneficiaries. Ansariya instructed the housing and municipal department officials to leverage this information to motivate beneficiaries and accelerate the completion of house construction. She specifically directed attention to houses at roof level and roof casting stages, emphasising the need for immediate action to complete these structures. To ensure systematic progress, the collector ordered officials to establish daily targets for stage conversion and implement measures to accelerate the pace of house construction across all ongoing projects. Markapur sub-collector Sahadit Venkata Trivinag, Housing PD Srinivas Prasad, Markapur Municipal Commissioner Narayana, tahsildar Chiranjeevi, and other officials accompanied the district collector during the site visit.

Markapur: Prakasam district collector A Thameem Ansariya said that a thorough field-level study of vulnerable children's family circumstances will enable the government to identify their needs and provide appropriate support to these families. Speaking at a training programme held at the MEPMA office in Markapur on Wednesday, the collector outlined the launch of a specialised mobile application designed to study the living conditions of vulnerable children's families. The training session focused on familiarising staff with this new digital tool for comprehensive data collection. As a pilot project, Racharla mandal of the district is selected for conducting the comprehensive study of vulnerable children's family situations. Through this initiative, officials have already identified 360 children requiring various forms of assistance. Among these, several children needed wheelchairs, which have been promptly provided to them. The study programme involves collaboration between multiple departments including ICDS, Education Department, medical staff, and representatives from voluntary organisations operating in respective areas. This multi-sectoral approach aims to ensure comprehensive coverage and support for vulnerable families. The collector emphasised that this systematic approach will help families access essential government services including housing approvals, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, school admissions, and other necessary support services. She instructed women police personnel and ICDS staff to gain complete understanding of the application and accurately record detailed information about vulnerable children's family circumstances, ensuring their genuine needs are properly documented in the system. Ongole: Prakasam district collector A Thameem Ansariya released the brochure of the Education Mega Fair 2025 scheduled to be held on June 12 at A1 Convention Centre here by the Brilliant Computer Education Institute, at the Collectorate on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the institute, Dr Shaik Nyamatulla Basha, said that they have been organising the Mega Education Fair for 21 years, to create awareness among the students and their parents on the options in engineering, medicine, and conventional degree programmes. He said that apart from the explanation of the procedure of web counselling, they also conduct career guidance and provide information on other special courses available for them. Nyamatulla announced that collector Ansariya, former DGP KRM Kishore Kumar, vice chancellors of prestigious universities, principals, directors, and professors from several well-known colleges, and officers from several banks will also attend the mega fair and clarify the doubts of the students and their parents. He said that the interested students and parents can get a seat in the institutions through spot admissions, or forward the application for the education loan at a special concession in the rate of interest. He said that the students who wish to attend the fair can call the executive on 8019479999 and collect their entry passes and bus passes at their institute.

Ongole: Prakasamdistrict collector A Thameem Ansariya conducted a comprehensive review meeting with DRDA officials, bank representatives, and Self-Help Group (SHG) members on 'Annual Credit and Livelihood Action Plan 2025-26', to discuss the implementation of various loan schemes for the financial year, at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. During the meeting, the collector emphasised the government's commitment to women's economic empowerment and social development through strengthened SHG initiatives. She announced that the government has formulated an action plan to provide comprehensive support to SHG women through various loan schemes. She stressed that at least one woman from each family should become a businesswoman to ensure widespread economic participation. Rather than focusing solely on individual needs, the emphasis should be on collective welfare activities that benefit the entire community, she added. Addressing the banking sector's role, the collector instructed bank officials to coordinate effectively with DRDA to facilitate smooth loan disbursement processes. She advised the bank officials to utilise 10 percent of the SHGs' deposits for funding viable projects, ensuring that loans reach deserving beneficiaries. The Collector revealed that under the women entrepreneur development programme, 1720 units have been made available in the district, with approximately 1,720 women having received support from the government up to the 5th standard level. She mentioned that applications for loans worth approximately Rs 23 crore have been received from officials and instructed banks to expedite the approval process. The Collector, along with other officials and bank representatives, reviewed the annual loan scheme framework for 2025-26. DRDA Project Director Narayana mentioned that the PMME scheme provides opportunities for establishing various units, and DRDA officials were instructed to provide guidance accordingly. He said that DRDA offers special support for individual loans to SHG women. He assured that banks need not have concerns about loan recovery, as the track record has been satisfactory. Joint Collector R Gopala Krishna, DRDA Additional Project Directors, and officials from various banks attended the programme.

ONGOLE: Ongole District Collector A Thameem Ansariya on Friday conducted surprise inspections at the Government General Hospital (GGH-RIMS) and the Government Mother and Child Care Hospital in Ongole to assess the quality of public healthcare services and monitor ongoing development works. During her visit, the Collector examined ongoing infrastructure projects and directed officials to expedite the construction of the Mother Newborn Baby Unit (MNBU) within 10 days. She reviewed staff performance, patient services, and cleanliness standards at both hospitals. At the Mother and Child Care Hospital, the Collector personally checked outpatient (OP) registration records, visited various departments including the OP ward, Operation Theatre, Antenatal Ward, Postnatal Ward, Sterilisation Room, and the NTR Vaidya Seva counter. She instructed staff to provide medical services with patience and emphasised maintaining proper sanitation. Later at GGH-RIMS, the Collector reviewed the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) registration process and inspected the ongoing repair works. She also assessed free meal distribution for patients and attendants, checking both quality and taste of the food served. The Collector urged hospital staff to communicate politely with patients, especially those who travel long distances for treatment, and not keep them waiting unnecessarily. She reiterated the importance of cleanliness in government hospitals. In light of rise in COVID-19 cases in the State, Collector Ansariya also advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel, mass gatherings, and social events, and to continue following preventive measures.
