Australia-India Youth Dialogue announces list of participants for this year's edition in September
The annual Australia-India Youth Dialogue (AYID) has announced its list of participants for this year's edition, scheduled to take place in Mumbai and Delhi from September 15 to 18. This year's Dialogue will explore the Future of Leadership.
For more than a decade, AIYD has been gathering 30 young leaders from Australia and India – 15 from each country. Held in alternating years in Australia and India, it fosters connections between young Indians and Australians, aiming to spark collaboration and partnership, and focus on the issues of significance for the next generation of bilateral leaders.
Michelle Jasper, AIYD Co-Chair, said: 'With India's demographic strength and Australia's research and regional capabilities, our countries have a shared opportunity and responsibility to design leadership models fit for the future.'
Fellow Co-Chair, Bindu Subranium, said: 'AIYD has grown into the leading Track II diplomacy forum for young leaders from Australia and India… At the heart of the dynamic relationship between the two countries are human connections.
From Australia, the 2025 edition will feature cricket commentator Bharat Sundaresan; Clare Murphy, international business development adviser from Melbourne; Medha Majumdar, Policy Officer, Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade; Meg Washington, singer-songwriter and composer; and Varun Ghosh, Senator for Western Australia.
The Indian side includes illustrator Alicia Souza, musician Ambi Subramaniam; Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO, GoSports Foundation; Paras Parekh, Advisor, Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways; Sathvik Shetty, Co-Founder, SmartX Technologies Australia; and Vandana Kasravalli, dancer, choreographer and educator.
