LSU Shreveport & Great Raft Brewing continue Talks on Tap series

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — LSU Shreveport (LSUS) and Great Raft Brewing continue the 'Talks on Tap' lecture series with summer events. On the third Tuesday of each month, LSUS professors hold 45-minute talks on different subjects, followed by Q&A sessions. Texas A&M-Texarkana launches EagleLEAD leadership program In the next session on June 17, 'The Science of the Strong: Elevating Youth Sports Performance,' Aaron Adams of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science will explain his work as manager of LSUS's Human Performance Lab and provide information about how science-based strength training positively impacts adolescent athletes. On July 15, Amanda Lewis from the Department of Biological Sciences and the LSUS Bass Fishing Team gives insights into fish biology, bass in Louisiana waterways, and the reason for fishing limits. Med Quest Camp at BPCC to inspire youth students Dr. Helen Wise, Associate Provost at LSUS, said, 'The 'Talks on Tap' series offers our community a chance to engage in lively, insightful discussions on research that resonates with real-world interests and challenges. We want to create a space where knowledge is accessible, relevant, and, most importantly, enjoyable.' A FORMER BBC Breakfast star has shared her major new TV gig - after admitting to landing her first job in the pub. 3 3 Rising star Emma has shared another major life update with her fans, revealing her first stint as an anchor on BBC rolling news. Proud Emma shared a picture of herself presenting a bulletin and captioned it: "My very first job was making tea and printing scripts for rolling news presenters at Sky. "Today was my first day in the chair doing rolling news for the BBC and feels like a milestone!!" In a second post she added: "Skipped uni worked in pubs, met some people from sky news, asked for a job, got a job on nightshifts doing tea, printing, and emptying bins!" She then continued in a third post: "Ok while we're on career storytime, as well as the bins. "One of my other tasks at Sky News (in the wake of 9/11), was to collect the presenters mail from the postroom. "Take it to a warehouse, put on rubber gloves, open each letter & shake it to check for anthrax." Emma, who is married to football coach Aaron Adams, was immediately flooded with replies from her followers. "Congratulations and best wishes on the new post - no better woman for the job, you were fab here in Northern Ireland," said one fan.
