Style Gallery: Will The BET Awards Dress Code Bring The Drama We're Hoping For? We Hope So

Source: Aaron J. Thornton / Getty Black tie, but make it culture. The 2025 BET Awards are about to be a fashion movie. For the first time, the BET Awards is setting the tone. Tomorrow, June 9, the network celebrates 25 years of culture-shifting moments with a formal black tie dress code. And if you know anything about the culture, we love to put that ish on. What better way to do it than with a fabulous formal theme? BET's 2025 Awards Show Dress Code Has Entered The Chat & It's Black Tie This year's awards show is shaping up to be more than just a celebration of music, film, and television. It's also a tribute to legacy, style, and the artistry of Black designers. BET has tapped Harlem's Fashion Row to help bring the fashion vision to life. BET and HFR are pairing this year's Best New Artist nominees with Black designers Richfresh, Megan Renee, LaTouche, and Rey Ortiz Jaiteh. That means custom looks, personal storytelling through fabric, and runway-ready moments that will make us gag. When it comes to black tie on the BET carpet, we know it's going to be a moment. For the ladies, that means floor-length gowns with sculptural shapes, dramatic tulle, trains longer than CVS receipts, romantic draping, and body-hugging corsets. Look out for exaggerated sleeves, fabulous feathers, sequined pieces, and silver, bronze, and gilded gold metallics. Also, don't be surprised if we see sheer moments, glamorous grills, and lace looks. For the men, expect tailored suits reimagined. We want to see double-breasted, sleeveless, monochrome, velvet, brocade, and suits dripping in details. Embellished lapels, brooches, and designer loafers can take suits to the next level. Chains over blazers? Of course. Luxe textures? Absolutely. The red carpet should perfectly mix personal style and formal glam. And whether it's Law Roach giving a glam breakdown or Teyana Taylor turning heads on stage, fashion will be its headliner. The BET red carpet never misses. Before the 2025 style rolls in, we're looking back at some of the most iconic fashion moments in BET Awards history. Keep scrolling to see our gallery – and how celebs have already worn versions of black tie to the BET Awards. Style Gallery: Will The BET Awards Dress Code Bring The Drama We're Hoping For? Eminem Charts A New Hit Single — But The Song Was A Winner Decades Ago

Eminem lands three songs on U.K. charts this week, with 'Shake That' making an unexpected comeback ... More and scoring its first appearance on the Singles Sales chart. DETROIT, MICHIGAN - JUNE 06: Eminem performs onstage at Live from Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central" at Michigan Central Station on June 06, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan. (Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images) Eminem's discography is filled with dozens upon dozens of smash hits, many of which continue to chart years — and sometimes decades. The rapper, who's remained one of the most consistent hitmakers in music history, doesn't dominate the U.K. rankings this frame, but he does manage to score a handful of placements with individual tunes. Among them is a surprise revival: 'Shake That' is not only back on one roster, it also debuts on another for the very first time. 'Shake That' pops up on two charts in the U.K. this frame. It's the only Eminem track to appear on more than one tally at the moment. The cut climbs back onto the Official Singles Downloads chart, landing at No. 96. That's not an especially lofty placement, but the fact that the song is even charting is worth pointing out. It's been more than 10 years since the tune ranked as one of the most downloaded tracks in the country — and more than 15 since it originally arrived. As it surges, 'Shake That' also appears on the Official Singles Sales chart for the first time. The tune opens at No. 98, finally becoming one of the bestselling cuts in the U.K. nearly two decades after it first found success. As 'Shake That' lands on the Official Singles Sales chart, Eminem scores his forty-second hit on that roster. The rapper last reached the tally in September 2024, when two cuts — 'Like My Shit' and 'Fuel,' a collaboration with fellow hip-hop star J.I.D. — both started in the middle of the ranking. 'Shake That' was first promoted as a single from Eminem's Curtain Call: The Hits compilation. The set, released in late 2005, featured a handful of original tracks, including this Nate Dogg-assisted jam. While the late West Coast icon is credited as a featured artist on the tune, his name curiously doesn't appear on either U.K. chart this week. That's a strange omission given his recognizable hook and vital role in the song's success, though not necessarily an uncommon one when it comes to the weekly tallies in the country. At the moment, Eminem claims just three hits on the U.K. charts. 'Without Me' and 'Lose Yourself' both cling to spots on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart, coming in at No. 30 and No. 32, respectively. Though his singles may not be flooding the rankings this frame, Eminem's albums continue to perform well. Five of his full-lengths place on at least one U.K. chart this week. As is usually the case, Curtain Call: The Hits ranks as the top performer. The compilation holds steady on one list while climbing on three others, and it's possible that it's growing thanks to the renewed interest in 'Shake That.'

March Madness: Expert picks, predictions, schedule, odds, betting lines for NCAA tournament South region; Michigan trying to avoid 5-vs.-12 upset

The stat was making the rounds after Auburn didn't make the championship game of the SEC tournament: No team has lost three of its past four games before the NCAA tournament and won a national championship. And yet, Auburn still was a somewhat surprising pick as the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Auburn stumbled late in a very tough league, which might open things up for the other teams in the South region. Auburn will open the tournament against Alabama State, which took down St. Francis 70-68 on a thrilling final-second layup off a tipped full-court pass in the First Four at Dayton on Tuesday. (We're also waiting to see if San Diego State or North Carolina play Ole Miss on Friday, as well), but here are the rest of the picks for the first round in the South, with all the odds from BetMGM: Advertisement Midwest region picks | East region picks | West region picks (All times Eastern.) No. 8 Louisville (-2.5) over No. 9 Creighton, 12:15 p.m. Thursday The first game of the first round Thursday is a good one. Louisville seems very under-seeded, but that's part of playing in a bad ACC. Still, since Dec. 14 the Cardinals are 21-2 and one of the losses came to Duke in the ACC tournament. Creighton has been a very good team too, and 7-foot-1 Ryan Kalkbrenner will be a problem for the Cardinals. But I won't hold it against Louisville that the ACC was down. The Cards advance. No. 1 Auburn (-31.5) over No. 16 Alabama State, 2:50 p.m. Thursday Alabama State thrilled us with a great NCAA tournament opener, with a last-second shot to win it. But this isn't the type of 16 seed that can scare a 1 seed. Alabama State doesn't have any strength that will keep it in a game against an Auburn team looking to quiet critics who wondered how it got the No. 1 overall seed after losing three of their last four. Advertisement [Full NCAA tournament bracket revealed | Printable bracket] No. 13 Yale (+7.5) over No. 4 Texas A&M, 7:25 p.m. Thursday Yale has become the Ivy's best program, and this season it dominated the league. Yale was 16-1 after Dec. 22. Texas A&M is a good team, but it lives off offensive rebounding (the best offensive rebounding percentage in the nation), and yet Yale is pretty good on the defensive boards. The Ivy League has been pretty good in the first round of the NCAA tournament, going 10-4 against the spread in the first round since 2009 (per Matt Eisenberg's Tournament Guide). Texas A&M could make a run into the second weekend, but this one isn't going to be easy. Vladislav Goldin helped lead the Michigan Wolverines to a Big Ten tournament championship. (Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images) (Aaron J. Thornton via Getty Images) No. 5 Michigan (-2.5) over No. 12 UC San Diego, 10 p.m. Thursday Ah, the 5 vs. 12 game. We all know by now this is where upsets come from, and UC San Diego is a dangerous 12 seed. had San Diego as the 36th best team in the sport, which is rarified air for a Big West school. That's just one spot below UConn, the reigning champs. San Diego does everything well, and it shoots (and hits) a lot of 3s. The problem is UCSD's size. It doesn't have a regular who is taller than 6-8. Michigan is the rare team with two 7-footers, Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf. If UCSD hits a ton of 3s this could be a fun upset, but this was a really unfortunate matchup for a strong mid-major. Advertisement [Yahoo Fantasy Bracket Mayhem is back: Enter for a shot to win up to $50K] No. 14 Lipscomb (+14.5) over No. 3 Iowa State, 1:30 p.m. Friday Iowa State looked like it could be a Final Four contender, but the last month was a little rough. Injuries affected the Cyclones. It appears Tamin Lipsey (10.8 ppg) will return from injury, but Keshon Gilbert (13.4 ppg) is out for the season via the Des Moines Register. That lowers the Cyclones' ceiling. Lipscomb has a lot of shooters, which is what you want from a big underdog. If Lipscomb can knock down some of the many 3s it's going to take, this one could be interesting late. No. 11 North Carolina (-1.5) over No. 6 Ole Miss, 4:05 p.m. Friday Most years, a team that wins in the First Four also wins a first-round game. This isn't just an overreaction to UNC's dominant win over San Diego State; the Tar Heels match up pretty well with Ole Miss. UNC didn't deserve an at-large spot but that never meant it couldn't get hot and win multiple games. No. 7 Marquette (-3.5) over No. 10 New Mexico, 7:25 p.m. Friday If you like guard play, this will be a fun matchup. Marquette's Kam Jones is one of the best players in the country, a Bob Cousy Award finalist for the trophy that goes to the nation's best point guard. New Mexico's Donovan Dent and his 20.6 points per game should get more respect for postseason honors. Marquette won just five of its last 12 games, but there weren't any bad losses. This isn't an easy pick between two similar but flawed teams. Marquette might be happy to not see a Big East foe. No. 15 Bryant (+17.5) over No. 2 Michigan State, 10 p.m. Friday Michigan State had a tremendous season. The Spartans were good to bettors too, posting a 22-10-1 mark against the spread via Action Network, one of the best marks in the sport. MSU won't shoot many 3s, won't shoot them well, but can score inside and rebound it well. Bryant is one of the few 15 seeds that actually has some decent size. It has the sixth-tallest team in college basketball, according to The Bulldogs didn't play a tough schedule and against the two best teams they played, St. John's and Grand Canyon, they lost by 22 and 46, respectively. There's no upset concern here, but Bryant might not be a total pushover.

Meanwhile, a handful of Big Ten teams will be sweating the NCAA tournament bubble. Here's what to know about and what to watch for at the Big Ten tournament, including matchups, game times and TV channels. 3 storylines to watch Can Michigan State sneak onto No. 1 seed line? After starting the season unranked, Michigan State has emerged as one of the nation's best teams and enters conference tournament play on a seven-game winning streak that includes five wins over ranked teams, two of them over rival Michigan. Advertisement The Spartans appear locked into a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and will hope to make a case for a No. 1 seed in Indianapolis. It's a long shot that will require some significant help from the SEC tournament. Either way, the Spartans are playing their best basketball at the right time and are red hot entering tournament play. Can Michigan turn things around? Meanwhile, Michigan has been spiraling. After a 14-3 start to Big Ten play, the Wolverines have lost three straight and four of their last six, including Sunday's lopsided loss to Michigan State in the regular-season finale. The Wolverines are slipping in NCAA tournament bracket projections and will look to re-find their footing with a run in Indianapolis. How will Big Ten bubble teams shake out? Ohio State, Indiana and Nebraska all enter Big Ten tournament play on the NCAA tournament bubble. Indiana appears to be the safest bet of the three after beating Ohio State in the regular-season finale.
