Aayush Sharma flaunts washboard abs: 'Comeback toh zabardast hona chahiye'

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma, who underwent two surgeries last month, showcased his pumped up body and his washboard abs as he said the comeback should be spectacular. Aayush took to Instagram, where he shared monochrome pictures of himself from the gym. In the first image, the actor shared a glimpse of his beefed up biceps and in the second photograph, he is seen putting his washboard abs on display. He captioned the post: 'Comeback toh Zabardast hona chahiye, warna maza kaise aayega (The comeback has to be spectacular, otherwise, where's the fun in it!)' Earlier this month, Aayush shared a video of himself doing shoulder shrugs with heavy weights. Nothing apart from his muscular-strong back is visible as yellow light falls on it. 'The weights don't care who you were. Only who you choose to become,' the 34-year-old actor captioned the video, which had Ryan Miller's track 'Masculine' as the background score. On June 24, the actor took to social media, where he shared that he is on his road to recover after undergoing two surgeries for back pain. He wrote a note on Instagram, which read: "Life has its way of slowing you down to make sure you listen.' 'For the last couple of years, I had been experiencing consistent pain in my back it started while pulling off a stunt during the action scene in Ruslaan — nothing too dramatic, so I did what most of us tend to do… ignored it, masked it, and kept going.' The actor added: 'It finally caught up with me while shooting for my current movie, and things took a turn. Movements that once felt like second nature — dancing, stunts, even the simplest stretches — became restricted. What I thought was temporary turned out to be far more serious." He called taking the pain lightly his biggest mistake. "But now… here we are. After two surgeries, I'm officially on the road to recovery. The journey has just begun, and I'm filled with nothing but gratitude, hope, and a burning desire to get back to doing what I love the most — being in front of the camera.'

Aayush Sharma Opens Up About Undergoing Two Back Surgeries: 'Felt Weakest In My Life'

Last Updated: Actor Aayush Sharma shared his experience of two back surgeries, stressing the importance of rest and listening to his body. He now focuses on balanced fitness and recovery. Actor Aayush Sharma recently opened up about undergoing two back surgeries and how the experience changed his approach to health and fitness. The surgeries came after he ignored early warning signs from his body during a hectic training and shooting schedule. Now on the road to recovery, Sharma says the experience taught him the value of rest, balance, and listening to his body. The actor, who had surprised his followers last month with an Instagram update about his surgeries, explained what led to the situation. 'I was taking my body's messages lightly for a long time. I was constantly under training and I was misunderstanding it as muscle soreness. That was just the body saying that, 'stop, give it a break'. I was in the middle of a shoot when it got aggravated. That's when I saw the doctor and suddenly I was told that there is an issue in the back and my L4 and L5 is giving me trouble," he told Hindustan Times. While the surgeries were physically demanding, Sharma shared that the unexpected pause allowed him to enjoy quality time with his family. 'In a very positive hindsight, it gave me a great amount of time with my kids and wife at home. We called it a bonding exercise. My son started cooking for me and made nice avocado toasts. Arpita (Khan, wife) and I caught up on a lot of movies. So, it turned out to be quite a different summer for me," he said. The experience also led to a major shift in his views on fitness. 'I am a firm believer that six-pack body is not a fit body. But there's been this trend of everybody trying to emulate it, which I don't think is fitness. It is aesthetic and there is a difference between fitness and aesthetic," Sharma noted, adding, 'I always say that the days we are doing those six-pack body shots, I actually feel the weakest in my life." Now focusing more on recovery, Sharma trains five days a week and dedicates the remaining two to rest and rehabilitation. 'I've been majorly into strength training and I am also focusing on stretching. Now, a priority is just relaxing my body, and I've felt the difference," he said. Exploring outdoor activities like jogging has also become part of his new fitness routine. 'What I would like to propagate is not how sharp my abs are, but how good my heart, my lungs and my internals are," Sharma concluded. 'That's the major change I've made—learning to take a break. Whenever your body says, 'I'm tired,' listen to it and go to sleep." First Published:
