9th annual Festival of Tulips to open at American Village

MONTEVALLO, Ala. (WIAT) — American Village's 9th annual Festival of Tulips will open at 10 a.m. Saturday. The festival will feature performances from American Village's actors, as well as a puppet show. The event will also include food trucks, including Nettie B's Grill, C's Cake & Coffee House, Sunshine Lemonade, Frozen Rooster and Birmingham Wings & Waffles. Miss America Abbie Stockard to speak at Center Point Prayer Breakfast The festival will last as long as the tulips are blooming. It will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is recommended to check American Village's website plus Facebook and Instagram accounts for updates and field conditions before visiting. Miss America Abbie Stockard to speak at Center Point Prayer Breakfast

CENTER POINT, Ala. (Trussville Tribune) — The City of Center Point, the Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Bobby Scott will host the city's annual prayer breakfast on Friday, March 7, featuring keynote speaker Abbie Stockard, who was crowned Miss America 2025 in January. This will be the 23rd annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and will be held at the Center Point High School gymnasium starting at 9 a.m. The event is usually held in the Center Point Community Center, but since the facility is currently undergoing renovations it was moved to CPHS, which will also allow for more attendees. Stockard was honored as a former Miss Trussville and Miss Hoover before she was named Miss Alabama 2024. In addition to her keynote speech, four area pastors will lead the gathering in prayer. Hanceville Police Department called 'a criminal enterprise' following indictment of chief, 4 officers on corruption charges Mayor Scott and City Event Coordinator Tim Gann will also deliver some acknowledgements. Multiple state and local government officials and business owners will be in attendance including Jefferson County Commissioners Mike Bolin and Joe Knight, Sheriff Mark Pettway, Alabama Sen.
