After over 20 years, '90s Malaysian girl group Elite to hold first solo concert this September

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – Popular 1990s Malaysian girl group Elite are reuniting for a solo concert in conjunction with their 30th anniversary. This will be their first solo concert in over 20 years and is set to take place at Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on September 20. Organised by Icon Entertainment, the Elite Live '25 concert will feature all five original members — Abby Abadi, Azza Zawari, Linda Rafar, Watie Sadali, and Sasha Saidin — taking centre stage this September. According to Linda, the decision to hold a solo concert came after the warm reception they received during the GenKRU concert at Axiata Arena in May, where the group made a surprise appearance during one of the four-day shows. 'Actually, we were a bit nervous because, as you all know, it's been quite a while since we performed live together, especially on a large scale. 'When we received the offer from Icon Entertainment, we had mixed feelings at first but eventually agreed to it. 'This was after taking into consideration that some of our songs are still favoured and relevant, and we want to party with all our fans — both old and new,' Linda said. Formed in 1995, Elite was the first act signed under KRU Records. Over five years with the label, they released several albums including Catwalk, Tamparan, Idola, Selamat Tinggal Teman, G.I.G, and Merbahaya. The theme for Elite Live '25 is Catwalk, and fans are encouraged to dress their best as there will also be a red carpet session. Tickets for Elite Live '25 will go on sale starting June 26 at 2pm, with prices ranging from RM268 to RM1,088. For more ticketing information, please visit

#SHOWBIZ: Norman Hakim thanks wife, ex-wife on Mother's Day on IG

KUALA LUMPUR: In a recent Mother's Day tribute, actor Norman Hakim took to his Instagram to express his gratitude to his wife, Memey Suhaiza, and his ex-wife, Abby Abadi, for their roles as mothers to his six children. "Happy Mother's Day to the two wonderful women who gave birth to and raised my six children," the 49-year-old actor wrote in his post. "Thank you for being amazing mothers to them. I appreciate every sacrifice, love, and prayer you extend to our children." Norman was previously married to Abby Abadi. Their marriage, which ended in divorce in 2008, produced three children: Mohd Danish Hakim, Marissa Dania Hakim, and Maria Danisha Hakim. In September 2011, Norman married actress Memey Suhaiza. The couple has also been blessed with three children: Darwisz Hakim, Dikhriz Hakim, and Mikayla Delisha Hakim. Abby Abadi later married Muhammad Faizal Zakaria in 2015. The Mother's Day post followed a recent incident where Abby Abadi had expressed her anger towards Norman on social media, accusing him of neglecting their children. However, she later apologised for the public outburst after Norman addressed the matter.

'No Forgiveness For You': Singer Abby Abadi Firmly Rejects Son-In-Law's Apology

Family feuds are not an easy thing to manoeuvre, especially when they involve one of your beloved daughters. The line drawn between the love you have for your partner and respecting your parents' wishes may be difficult to discern if one party does not agree with the other. Singer Arbaiyah Abdul Manan, known professionally as Abby Abadi, has taken a stance on not accepting the apology from her daughter's husband, Ahmad Aslam, who had secretly taken Abadi's 19-year-old daughter as his second wife last year in Thailand. He has publicly apologised on 18th April 2025 about the whole incident, four months after marrying Marrissa Dania Hakim. The 47-year-old singer took to Threads to voice out her opinions after Aslam's public apology. 'When did you apologise- Aslam? Please explain the time and setting when you apologised? Did anything come out of my mouth during the apology?'. After the outburst on Threads, Abby went live on TikTok to talk about the case and invited him to apologise in person. However, the artist retracted her invitation and has firmly closed the doors for any form of reconciliation between the two. Her post on Threads read, 'The live video that I mentioned for you to come and apologise is no longer valid. Don't come. There is no need. There is no forgiveness for you. I don't have a son-in-law'. Netizens gave mixed reactions towards the statement, with some questioning where the blame was shifted to. User @/_pe.ah_ comments, 'He proudly shows his face on live with his first wife, but netizens condemn the first wife. Why not condemn the guy's side as well?'. Some netizens also comment on the method of exposing the family feud online, with user @/s_m00l commenting, 'It's true that the children are at fault, but you didn't have to expose this to the public. This should be settled between families'. The tension between families grows as netizens have also commented how Abby Abadi should apologise to Ahmad Aslam's wife, local influencer Umaisya Mazlan. No statements have been released by her on the situation. Source: Threads (1)(2) Alyssa Gabrielle contributed to this article
