Industry Ministry launches commercial bank account opening service
As part of its ongoing efforts to develop the business environment and enhance compliance with regulatory decisions, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced the launch of a new service in collaboration with several local banks. This service enables business owners to easily open a commercial bank account, contributing to the stability of commercial activities. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasised that this step reflects the Ministry's continuous commitment to establishing a flexible, transparent, and investment-friendly business environment. It also highlights the Ministry's dedication to providing efficient services that facilitate doing business and support business owners in complying with relevant regulations. He noted that the Ministry will continue to develop more initiatives to support the national economy. The Minister added that this new service is part of an integrated set of initiatives aimed at simplifying procedures, achieving the highest levels of legislative compliance, and enhancing the efficiency of government services provided to the commercial sector, thereby boosting Bahrain's competitiveness regionally and internationally. This initiative comes in line with the implementation of Ministerial Decision (43) of 2024 regarding payment regulations for commercial transactions of business establishments, which mandates all commercial establishments to open a unified commercial bank account for their financial transactions and provide approved electronic payment methods that support transparency and digitisation in commercial activities. To simplify the process, a direct service point has been established on the second floor of the Bahrain Financial Harbour, near the Bahrain Investors Centre. Additionally, the service can be accessed online via the commercial registration system 'Sijilat' at The Ministry urges all commercial establishments to open a commercial bank account before the deadline on June 13, 2025, to ensure full compliance with the resolution and benefit from the provided facilities. Industry Minister participates in Make it the Emirates Forum 2025
Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, participated as a keynote speaker in the fourth edition of the 'Make in the Emirates 2025' forum , organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, from 19 to 22 May, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). During his participation in the dialogue session held under the title 'Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development', the Minister elaborated on a set of paths Bahrain took to support smart manufacturing and enhance local content. Fakhro, met Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry, where they discussed a number of issues of common interest.

World Metrology Day exhibition
His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, attended an exhibition organised by the Ministry's Testing and Metrology Directorate at Bahrain Financial Harbour to mark World Metrology Day, observed annually on May 20. The Minister highlighted the achievements of the National Measurement Laboratory, particularly its accreditation under the international ISO 17025 standard. He noted the advancement of the mass laboratory, which provides precise calibration services for weights up to 50 tonnes, the volume laboratory, which ensures accuracy in volume and flow measurements using advanced instruments, and the internationally and regionally accredited temperature laboratory.

First Pakistan-Bahrain Investment Opportunities Summit and Smart Expo 2025 Concludes
The First Pakistan-Bahrain Investment Opportunities Summit and Smart Expo was successfully held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Manama, on May 17, 2025. The landmark event was organized by the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry in collaboration with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Bahrain. His Excellency H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abduljabbar Alkoheji, Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was present at the inaugural session as the Guest of Honour. The closing session was graced by His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The summit brought together over 125 delegates from leading Pakistani companies, representing diverse sectors including Information Technology, Stock Exchange, Human Resource providers and Real Estate. These companies showcased a range of investment-ready projects and services, attracting significant attention from both the Pakistani diaspora and Bahraini business leaders. Aimed at fostering economic collaboration, the Expo presented promising investment opportunities in Pakistan while also building confidence among Pakistani investors in the Bahraini market. The initiative highlighted the strong potential for bilateral investment partnerships between the two nations. A number of Business to Business meetings were also arranged during the Expo. Participating businesses displayed their stalls as well as presented their products to potential investors from Bahrain. According to preliminary estimates, the event generated approximately $12 million in business deals, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan-Bahrain economic cooperation. The event not only strengthened commercial ties but also demonstrated a shared commitment to enhancing regional economic integration and mutual growth. Organizers announced plans to make the summit a regular platform to deepen business relations and facilitate sustainable economic engagement.

The Metal Assay Center wins gold classification 'Taqyeem 5'
