At least 50 Sudanese displaced people rescued in Al-Kufra desert
The Emergency and Ambulance Service in Al-Kufra has announced the rescue of about 50 Sudanese displaced individuals, including women and children, who were stranded in the desert south of the city. According to a statement posted on Facebook, members of the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Al-Kufra found the group on Thursday morning in the Siouf Boufatma area, located about 450 kilometers from Al-Kufra. On Wednesday, the spokesperson for Al-Kufra's Municipal Council, Abdullah Suleiman, called for the reopening of the Sudanese consulate in the city, citing growing humanitarian and administrative challenges due to the increasing influx of Sudanese people fleeing conflict in their home country.
