Oman face Bahrain in opener of Gulf School championship
MUSCAT: The Oman school football team will commence their campaign at the Gulf School Sports Championship with a match against Bahrain on Monday. The match will kick off at 6:30 PM (Oman time) at Waad Academy Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The tournament began on Sunday and will run until Thursday and featured participation of Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Oman and the hosts Saudi Arabia. The football event will be played by Round-robin tournament from single round with the team accumulating the highest number of points will be crowned as the tournament champion. Oman will participate in this tournament at two games including football and table tennis.

Oman's school team will face Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. In their second match they will take on UAE on Wednesday. The concluding match will be against Kuwait on Thursday. All of Oman's matches will be played at Waad Academy Stadium at the same time at 6:30 PM (Oman time). The football team is coached by Oman national football team head coach, Anwar al Habsi who opted 17 players for this event including
Abdulrahman al Busaidy, Yazan al Khaldi, Al Hassan al Qasimi, Muzn al Hinai, Ibrahim al Tamimi, Suleiman al Kharousi, Ali al Owainy, Fahad Awadh, Firas al Saadi, Al Waleed al Buraidi, Abdulaziz al Balushi, Ali al Askari, Al Waleed al Rushaidi, Osama al Maamari, Hussam al Naabi, Fahad al Mushaikhi and Mohammed al Sameen.

On the other side, Oman's school table tennis team will commence their competition with a match against Bahrain and UAE teams. The matches are scheduled to be played against Kuwait on Monday and then the team will conclude their group matches against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Oman's table tennis team comprised Moayed al Mutawa, Ziyad al Shehi and Ali al Awadi and the head coach Yasser al Nasri.
