This weekend in Gauteng: concerts, comedy and wine tasting
A special concert will be held in Pretoria this weekend which will celebrate Abigail Kubeka's incredible career. Abigail Kubeka - Celebrating 68 years of excellence in the industry Renowned musician Abigail Kubeka's almost seven decades in the industry will be celebrated during a special concert in her honour. The festivities will be kicked off by Zenzi Makeba Lee & Miriam Makeba Band, who will be the opening acts. Attendees can also expect performances from the likes of Sipho Mabuse, Vusi Mahlasela, McCoy Murubata, Condry Ziqubu, Babsy Mlangeni, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Faith Kekana, Stella Khumalo and Mandisa Dlanga. Where: The State Theatre in Pretoria. When: Saturday, July 5, at 6pm. Schalk Bezuidenhout Live Renowned comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout is bringing his signature comedy and hilarious storytelling to Gauteng this weekend. His show will be hosted by Morgan Beatbox and will also feature acts from Cobus van Rensburg and Phuza Comedy. Where: The Imbabali Retreat & Venue in Magaliesburg. When: Sunday, July 6, from 1pm. Ground CRU Winter Edition Wine enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend as this much-anticipated event returns to Joburg. This wine-tasting experience famously shines a light on refined wines from esteemed Cape wineries. Attendees will get the chance to sample flavours of both new and rare vintages. There will also be live music as well as food for sale. Where: The Tobacco Shed in Muldersdrift. When: Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6, from 12pm to 5pm.

Living legend series celebrates Abigail Kubeka
JOHANNESBURG - Mama Abigail Kubeka has had an extraordinary career in South Africa's music, arts and cultural landscape as a singer, songwriter and actress. And the Department of Sport Arts and Culture will host a tribute concert in her honour as part of its Van Toeka Af Living Legends Recognition Series. It will be held this Saturday at 6 oc lock at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria, uniting more than 25 legendary performers including Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Faith Kekana and Mandisa Dlanga.
