Abo El Anwar Returns in New Colour With ‘AFTARAT'
Produced by Egyptian beatmaker Tayyab, the track blends shaabi with pop and hip-hop elements. Jun 13, 2025 Egyptian rapper Abo El Anwar has just released 'AFTARAT', a shaabi-infused track that has him experimenting well beyond his comfort zone. Rising above the chaos of the rap scene in full swagger, Abo El Anwar trades his classic rapid bars for more melodic flows, using sleek worldplay to capture his life under the pressure of fame, but with unwavering confidence and bravado. Produced by rising Egyptian beatmaker Tayyab–known for his works with rap stars like Muhab, Begad and Ahmed Santa–the track explores a colourful musical palette, blending shaabi rhythms with pop sensibilities and hip-hop elements. As vulnerable as he is assertive, Abo El Anwar touches on themes of betrayal and escapism, contrasting fleeting highs with the emptiness of fame and fake opportunistic friendships. While he flexes his material wins, like travelling to Spain and buying a new apartment, he also acknowledges the emotional disassociation and prolonged burnout that comes with trying to hold up a certain facade in the toxic music industry. But beneath the punchy delivery, he reveals a sharp awareness of the instability around him, and his refusal to let it shake his sense of self and his artistic vision.

Arsenik & Abo El Anwar Team Up for ‘Fomanshi'
The duo reunite for a post-Ramadan release, produced by Mo3geza & Arsenik. Mar 31, 2025 Arsenik and Abo El Anwar have collaborated again on their latest single, 'Fomanshi,' released on the first day of Eid. Following a relatively quiet month for music during Ramadan, the track marks their return with a single produced by Mo3geza & Arsenik. The title 'Fomanshi' (or "الفيشاوي") is inspired by the character "Fomashi" from the 2005 film 'El Hassa El Sabaa', played by Ahmed Mazhar who masquerades throughout the film as a Chinese king fu master. The two artists have previously worked together on tracks like 'Code' and 'Rawa2'. The music video shows Arsenik and Abo El Anwar meeting up on the first day of Eid, performing in a garage and a PlayStation cyber café, joined by artists and friends, including Ahmed Mazhar (Fomanshi), Ahmed Santa, Slyver, and Fifty.
