Dubai Police host 'Abu Hail Forum' to empower a diverse, united community
5 Aug 2025 15:29 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)The Positive Spirit Council at Dubai Police, in collaboration with Al Muraqqabat Police Station, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Media Incorporated, has organised the 'Abu Hail Community Forum' at Abu Hail Park that brought together families from diverse nationalities and age groups, offering a wide range of activities that combined entertainment, education, and community forum featured a strong turnout of over 300 attendees and saw the presence of Lt. Colonel Majid Issa bin Redha, Acting Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station; Ms Fatma Buhjair, Chair of the Positive Spirit Council; Captain Saeed Ghadir, Vice Chair of the Council; Lieutenant Nabit Sultan Al Ketbi, Head of the 'Your Commitment is Happiness' initiative; and Mr Muhammad Al Hajaji, General Coordinator of the Positive Spirit event catered to all members of the family, with dedicated entertainment zones for children, including drawing workshops and interactive sports activities that encouraged family participation. Alongside the recreational aspects, the forum placed a strong emphasis on awareness and education.A series of informative lectures was delivered throughout the day. These covered essential topics such as how and when to contact Dubai Police (999 in emergencies and 901 for non-emergency assistance). Participants also learned about the dangers of narcotics, the importance of drug prevention, and how to access the 'Victim Support' service. Sessions also focused on traffic safety regulations and introduced the innovative services provided by the Smart Police Station (SPS). To ensure inclusivity, all lectures were interpreted in sign language for attendees with hearing event also featured engaging live elements, including an appearance by Police Mascot 'Mansour' from the Security Awareness Department, musical performances by the Dubai Police Band, and a display of luxury patrol vehicles. A special highlight was the K9 Unit demonstration, where police dogs showcased their advanced detection and security skills, much to the excitement of the audience. Fatima Buhjair stated that the event is one of several initiatives launched by the Positive Spirit Council to support Dubai Police's strategic goal of spreading happiness and fostering public safety. She emphasised that the forum not only promoted a safer and more connected society but also contributed to enhancing the overall quality of life, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect.
