Abu Zuhri: Enemy's attack on Madeleine ship, arrest of activists on board war crime

Gaza – Saba: Hamas leader Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri has confirmed that the enemy's attack on the Madeleine ship and the arrest of the activists on board is a war crime. Abu Zuhri said in press statements on Monday that "it is shameful for the international community to remain silent about this piracy." He stressed that the response to this crime must be to send ships from all countries of the world seeking to break the blockade toward Gaza, and to not surrender to the Zionist crime. This morning, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition announced that the Israeli enemy army boarded Madeleine ship heading to Gaza and kidnapped the activists on board. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition launched the Madeleine, a civilian ship carrying humanitarian aid and international volunteers, from the Italian port of Catania last Sunday in a renewed attempt to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, which has been in place for more than 17 years. The Madeleine is carrying vital and urgent supplies for the residents of the Gaza Strip, including baby formula, flour, rice, diapers, sanitary pads, water desalination equipment, medicines and medical supplies, as well as crutches and prosthetic limbs for children. The ship is also accompanied by volunteers of various nationalities, including Member of the European Parliament Rima Hassan and Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg. Gazans Furious With Hamas: It Has Nothing But Contempt For The Victims Of The War And Is Prepared To Sacrifice Us All To Remain In Power

In the recent days, a video was widely circulated on social media featuring part of a March 30, 2025 interview with senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri. In the interview, which aired on a Libyan television channel, Abu Zuhri referred with indifference to the number of Palestinians who have been killed in the Gaza war, calling this "the price we have to pay," and remarked that the women of Gaza will compensate for the loss by "producing" more babies than those who have been killed. Abu Zuhri's remarks sparked considerable anger in the Gaza Strip. At a demonstration held in Khan Yunis on May 19, 2025 calling to end the war, protesters condemned Abu Zuhri and the Hamas movement, chanting: "Abu Zuhri, you despicable man! The children have a right to live! and "Out with Hamas!"[1] Gazans on social media expressed outrage at Abu Zuhri's remarks, claiming that the Hamas leadership, in its insolence, imperviousness and insensitivity, is willing to sacrifice all the people of the Gaza Strip in order to remain in power, and that, for the leadership, the dead in Gaza are no more than numbers or tactical losses and a means to achieve temporary political goals. It should be noted that this is not the first time that senior Hamas officials have demonstrated indifference to the victims of the Gaza war, calling them "tactical losses." In a speech he delivered on the first anniversary of the Gaza war on October 7, 2024, Khaled Mashal stated that the Palestinian losses in the war, and especially the numerous deaths, were merely "tactical," as opposed to the strategic blows dealt to Israel.[2] Furthermore, in November 2023, senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk said that the Gaza tunnels were intended to protect Hamas' fighters, not the residents of Gaza, whose protection was the responsibility of the UN and of Israel.[3] Cartoon on the Al-Munkhul Telegram channel: "Sami Abu Zuhri's factory for manufacture people" ( May 19, 2025) This report reviews criticism of Abu Zuhri and the Hamas leadership posted on social media from within the Gaza Strip, "Free Gaza" Facebook Account: Hamas Is Prepared To Sacrifice All The Gazans To Remain In Power A post on the "Free Gaza" Facebook account, which frequently publishes criticism against Hamas, read: "Sami Abu Zuhri believes that souls can be remanufactured in Hamas's factory for [making] people… Hamas's religion is based on [the principle] that human lives are as cheap as they can possibly be. In order to safeguard Hamas and its rule in Gaza, they [Hamas] have no problem sacrificing Aziz [a Gazan whose photograph accompanies the post] and his family, along with the entire Jabalia refugee camp and the northern Gaza Strip, [or actually] all of Gaza and its two million souls… [They believe] that the time of people's death is predestined and has nothing to do with Hamas. The important point is for the negotiations to guarantee Hamas' continued [control] over Gaza on the day after [the war]. Other than that, everything is marginal…"[4] Gaza-based Facebook user Ashraf Nasser, who frequently criticizes Hamas, wrote: "Sami Abu Zuhri wants the people [of Gaza] to make [new] humans to replace those who have been lost, so that [Hamas's] enterprise, which is based on bloodshed, will endure!" He followed this with a series of brutal curses against Hamas.[5] Gaza Resident: The Dead Are Merely "Tactical Losses" For Hamas Gazan user Alaa Matar posted on Facebook: "When I heard Sami Abu Zuhri say that houses can be rebuilt and martyrs can be replaced, I couldn't believe that he, who said this, was speaking in our name, speaking for Gaza. I am a human being, and I have lost my daughter, her mother and my home. Tell me, Sami, how can I get back my daughter's laughter, my daughter's voice?... A martyr is not a number or a commodity that can be remanufactured. A martyr is a human being, a soul honored by Allah, a dream cut short and a life extinguished… You [Hamas officials] talk as if our losses can [just] go on, as though they are routine and meaningless. Whoever represents Gaza must feel [the pain of] its people, instead of disdaining their tears and robbing us even of the right to grieve. "[Abu Zuhri's] statements prove what is already known: [that for Hamas] we are mere numbers and tactical losses… [But] these losses cannot be replaced, and nothing can make up for them. [Hamas] regards the pain of the bereaved with great contempt… This is an insult to the very [spirit] of resistance. A real resistance [movement] defends its people rather than justifying their losses… The discourse of true leadership must befit the magnitude of the people's sacrifice. You should apologize to us [Gazans] and kiss our feet so that we forgive you…"[6] Gaza Facebook User: The Hamas Leadership Is Insolent, Impervious And Insensitive Gazan Facebook user Anas Ahmed wrote: "O Sami Abu Zuhri, head of Hamas' Political Department… you say that a house that was destroyed will be rebuilt. My house was bombed, and my loved ones were killed inside it… You say that the martyrs will be replaced by tens of thousands of new [souls], so please return to me all of my brother's children whom I have lost. Please bring them back to me. I want to tell you that you are man without honor or feelings who pays no heed to the victims or to the peoples' feelings. To our great misfortune, the Jews are fighting us with murder and starvation, and the arrogant political leadership, characterized by imperviousness and insensitivity, is [also] fighting us."[7] Similar criticism of Hamas was voiced by Gazan user Abu Imran Al-Ghoul, who wrote sarcastically: "Prof. Sami Abu Zuhri has invented a machine for remanufacturing humans. Allah disgrace you and whoever appointed you spokesman of a movement that speaks in such a shameful way in the name of a wounded people. You dishonor the people when you [say that] you can replace the dead, as though they are cheap goods [that can be] remanufactured… These remarks encapsulate Hamas's attitude to the people and their suffering…"[8] Gazan Facebook User: History Will Have No Mercy And The People Will Not Forget What Was Said To Them In A Time Of Crisis Gazan user Lolo Mando Alkishawi wrote: "In response to the remarks made by Abu Zuhri, [let me say that] we are not turkeys on a farm that can be [slaughtered and then] bred anew in the next season. We are a people that knows its origins and its history and carries its honor on its shoulders even in difficult conditions… Our lives are not so cheap that [the price] of our blood can be estimated on talk-show panels or that our victims and our steadfastness can be tallied in terms of temporary political achievements… Those who speak for us should not sell us illusions… History will have no mercy and the people will not forget what was said to them in a [time of] crisis… We are human beings, and our dead are too noble for their sacrifice to be summed up in [this] cold and shameful manner. Whoever speaks this way does not represent us and has no right to speak for our dead…"[9] Muhammad Khamis Al-Shuorbaji from Khan Younis shared a picture of his family and wrote: "Everyone knows that Sami Abu Zuhri is the son of a collaborator. The ones [in the picture] are my family members. Tell me, how can we produce new people like them? How does the process work?..." He too proceeded to curse Abu Zuhri.[10] The photo shared my Muhammad Khamis Al-Shuorbaji Gaza Resident: We Must Reexamine The Public Discourse And The Positions Of The Hamas Leadership Hassan Obaid of Gaza wrote: "Whether Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri apologizes for his remarks, which offended everyone [in Gaza], or does not apologize, the impact of his remarks cannot be ignored. The martyrs are not mere numbers, nor are they goods manufactured in factories… They were beating human hearts… Each martyr has a story… An apology would be a positive measure toward calming things down and demonstrating accountability [on the part of Hamas]. But more important is to reconsider the public discourse and the positions taken, especially by members of the movement's leadership…"[11]

Hamas leader denies claims of Gaza truce in exchange for release of Israeli prisoners

Gaza - Saba: Sami Abu Zuhri, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), has denied any truth to rumors about the movement's agreement to release nine Israeli prisoners in exchange for a two-month truce. He stressed that talk of such an agreement is inaccurate and merely an attempt to mislead. Abu Zuhri said in press statements Sunday evening that the Zionist enemy is trying to confuse the Palestinian and media arena with fake news aimed at pressuring the resistance and covering up its ongoing crimes in the Gaza Strip. Hamas leader stressed that the movement will not release any more prisoners as long as the enemy insists on continuing its aggression until the end. He also indicated the movement's readiness to release all Israeli prisoners at once, provided the aggression on Gaza stops with clear international guarantees. He stated that Hamas's initiative to hand over the American-Israeli soldier Idan Alexander came within the framework of preparing the ground for a comprehensive agreement, but the US administration did not appreciate this positive step. Earlier, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced Sunday evening that Tel Aviv had proposed a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in exchange for Hamas releasing half of the remaining Israeli prisoners. Hamas calls on nation to take action to save Gaza, avenge It

Gaza – Saba: Sami Abu Zuhri, head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" abroad, called on Thursday the entire nation to act quickly to save Gaza and avenge it, otherwise it would be a sin. He urged everyone not to leave Gaza alone. In press statements on Thursday, he said, "Today was bloody in Gaza. Blood is spreading everywhere, and the number of martyrs is approaching 120 in less than a day," referring to the ongoing Zionist massacres against civilians. He emphasized that "there is no room for sleep or inaction." He considered that the continuation of the massacres confirms the enemy's insistence on pursuing its policy of killing and starvation until the end, and reflects the absence of any genuine international will to stop the cycle of Zionist criminality. Abu Zuhri emphasized in his statements, "The time has come for the entire nation to take action against the enemy and its interests everywhere, after all bets on the possibility of stopping the massacres through political contacts have failed." Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, witnessed a bloody night at dawn on Thursday, following horrific massacres committed by the Israeli enemy army against civilians' homes and tents, leaving more than 40 martyrs and dozens more injured and missing. Hamas rejects Israeli ceasefire, hostage return deal over disarmament demands

Hamas appears to have rejected Israel's latest attempt to secure a ceasefire and the return of nearly a dozen hostages who have been held in the Gaza Strip for 556 days. The terrorist organization has yet to issue a formal response regarding its rejection of Israel's ceasefire proposal, but according to remarks by Hamas leader Abu Zuhri to reporters on Tuesday, "Handing over the resistance's weapons is a million red lines and is not subject to consideration, let alone discussion." Fox News Digital could not independently verify the extent of the terms involved in the deal, but sources said the conditions included a 45-day ceasefire and the return of humanitarian aid – which has been blocked since March 2 – in exchange for 11 hostages and the disarmament of Hamas. Top Hamas Terror Leader Killed In 'Precise Strike' By Israel: Idf The Israeli government assesses that 24 of the 59 hostages held in the Gaza Strip are still alive, including American Israeli Edan Alexander – who had a second proof of life video released by Hamas on Saturday, the eve of Passover. But Hamas on Tuesday claimed it had lost contact with the soldiers said to be guarding Alexander and accused Israeli forces of targeting his location, though it did not provide evidence of any strike. Read On The Fox News App Hamas on multiple occasions has falsely blamed Israeli attacks for either the death of or the loss of communication with hostages held across the Gaza Strip. Fox News Digital could not immediately reach Israeli authorities nor Alexander's family for confirmation of the Tuesday claims posted in a Telegram post by Abu Obeida, spokesperson for Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades. News of the proposal's failure does not appear to have come as a surprise to mediators, who remain tight-lipped and have not responded to Fox New Digital's questions. Some reporting suggested that mediators were not confident the Israeli ceasefire proposal would gain much traction despite Israel's continued advances in Gaza because it did not propose any withdrawal terms and called on Hamas to relinquish its arms. Freed Israeli Hostage Calls On Trump To Act As 'Modern Moses' To Save Brother From Hamas 'Lunatics' Israel frustrated mediators last month when it resumed military operations across the Gaza Strip following the end of the first ceasefire and the failure to secure a second phase, which was intended to see the release of the remaining hostages. Israel over the weekend captured more territory in the Gaza Strip after reports earlier this month indicated it had taken over half of the Palestinian territory as talks remain stalled over ceasefire negotiations. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday the IDF had captured territory in the southern portion of the Gaza Strip from the Philadelphia Corridor, which runs along the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, and the Morag axis, a new corridor announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this month, which cuts off the city of Rafah and southern Gaza off from Khan Younis – roughly a quarter of the way up the Strip from the Egyptian border. Katz said the area has become a buffer zone controlled by the IDF. "The area of the northern border in Gaza is also deepening and expanding as part of the security zone and the protection of Israeli settlement," he said in a post on X. "Hundreds of thousands of residents have already evacuated from the combat zones and tens of percent of Gaza's territory has become part of Israel's security zones. "The main goal is to exert heavy pressure on Hamas in favor of returning to the outline of releasing the abductees," Katz continued. "Gaza will become smaller and more isolated, and more and more of its residents will be forced to evacuate the combat zones."Original article source: Hamas rejects Israeli ceasefire, hostage return deal over disarmament demands
