NDC Commandant receives Algerian delegation

MUSCAT: Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdullah al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), received a delegation from the War High College of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, at Bait Al Falaj, on Sunday. During the meeting, both sides exchanged discussions on several matters of mutual interest, particularly in academic fields. The meeting was attended by several senior officers from the National Defence College at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. The Algerian delegation also visited the Joint Command and Staff College at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. Upon arrival at the College's headquarters in Bait Al Falaj, the delegation was received by the Acting Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College. During the visit, the delegation viewed a visual presentation about the college, its curriculum and various training and educational programmes. MUSCAT: The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies held its 2025 annual gathering at Al Shafaq Club of the Sultan's Armed Forces. The event was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs. On this occasion, HH Sayyid Shihab launched the academy's official website ( and reviewed its key electronic services, designed to support academic, scientific and strategic research. HH Sayyid Shihab commended the academy's national role and praised the efforts of its leadership in achieving its objectives. He urged the participants of the 12th National Defence Course and the 38th Leadership and Staff Course to continue developing plans, policies and systems that enhance the academy's academic framework and keep pace with evolving educational and strategic advancements. The event was attended by the Commandant of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, the Commandant of the National Defence College, the Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, the Head of the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies, senior officers, strategic advisers, academic representatives and participants of the 12th National Defence Course and the 38th Leadership and Staff Course. - ONA

MUSCAT: Maj Gen Hamid bin Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, received in his office at Bait Al Falaj on Sunday a delegation from the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The visiting delegation is headed by Dr Abdulmajeed Abdullah Albanyan, President of the University. During the meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest, notably in academic fields. Within the framework of the visit, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two sides pertaining to academic and scientific aspects. The MoU was signed by Maj Gen Hamid bin Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, and Dr Abdulmajeed Abdullah Albanyan, President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by several senior officers of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. The Saudi delegation has also visited the National Defence College (NDC). Upon their arrival at the NDC, they were greeted by Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdullah al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College. The guests were briefed about the college and its strategic curricula. They also toured the NDC's departments and various facilities. Meanwhile, the delegation of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences also visited the Joint Command and Staff College. The meeting was attended by Commodore Khalid Amir Al Salti, Director General of Studies and Academic Affairs and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Muscat. Iranian Military Delegation Visits NDC A delegation from the Supreme National Defense University of the Islamic Republic of Iran today visited the National Defense College (NDC) at Bait Al Falaj Camp. The guests were greeted upon their arrival at the college by Brigadier Mansoor Ali Al Amri, Acting Commandant of the NDC.
