As part of this transformation, the first unit of each subject will now highlight concepts rooted in ancient Indian wisdom . For instance, Acharya Kanad's atomic theory, which predates Dalton's theory by over 2,600 years, will be included in the Physics syllabus. Similarly, Raja Bhoj's contributions to architecture, documented in his treatise Samarangana Sutradhara, will be integrated into the Architecture curriculum. The department is laying special emphasis on ensuring that all content drawn from ancient Indian texts is authentic, well-documented and academically verifiable. A total of 82 major concepts related to India's traditional knowledge systems will be included. References from texts such as Rigveda and Apastamba Dharmasutra will be used to highlight the role of women in ancient Indian education and society. Subjects like Sociology will now feature references to female sages such as Maitreyi, Lopamudra, Kakshivati and Apala, while Music and Drama courses will incorporate classical Indian theories and practices. Students will also engage in activities such as archaeological site visits and heritage-based projects to deepen their understanding. This space showcases paintings, scriptures and literary materials centred around ancient Indian knowledge systems. Similar models are expected to be replicated in other colleges across the state. Dr Dhirendra Shukla, officer on special duty, Higher Education Department said, "This move aims to instil pride in India's intellectual heritage while enhancing the academic depth of university education."
