Kovacic ruled out of Club World Cup after surgery
Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic has had an operation on an Achilles Croatia international, who missed the FA Cup final because of injury, will not travel for the Club World Cup in the United club said: "Mateo will spend the summer rehabilitating from the operation and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery."

Glasgow calm fears over injured Jones' Lions hopes

X Factor winner is rushed to hospital in excruciating pain after 'devastating' sport injury
X Factor winner Myles Stephenson has revealed he has suffered a serious injury that will keep him off his feet for the next couple of months. The singer, 33, who is best known for winning the ITV show in 2017 with band RAK-SU, shared a photo from hospital to Instagram showing his foot and leg heavily bandaged following the painful sports-related incident. Myles confirmed his diagnosis and explained that he has 'ruptured his Achilles' while playing a football game. 'Only gone and ruptured my Achilles haven't I?' he told fans. Facing an extended period of recovery, Myles admitted the reality of the situation was starting to sink in as everyday activities will now be a struggle on crutches. Work, family, simple things like tidying/washing. I am not looking forward to it.' Myles is now a hands on dad to his two young children, Shiloh, three, and Sahara, two, whom he shares with wife Keli Hall. The injury is likely to present extra challenges for the family, especially given their son Shiloh's additional needs. It comes after Myles revealed in January that his daughter Sahara was rushed to hospital after suffering a terrifying Febrile seizure. He took to his Instagram Stories with a snap of the two-year-old in A&E after she 'stopped breathing' and 'turned blue'. Myles said the incident was the 'scariest thing he'd ever seen'. He captioned the post: 'This little princess had a seizure yesterday evening and stopped breathing and turnt [sic] blue! Single handedly the scariest thing I've ever seen!'. 'Her temperature spiked causing a (febrile) seizure. For any parents with young children please look up Febrile Seizures and research'. Before adding: 'It will not only help your child but also you if it should ever happen, especially during flu season.' Back in 2023, Myles spoke out on the heartbreaking discovery his son Shiloh suffered a stroke. Taking to Instagram at the time, he told fans how he noticed Shiloh's right hand was constantly in a fist at just six months old, while they later spotted he was dragging his right foot while walking. At the recommendation of family, they took him to the doctor for a check-up and he was later diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy having suffered a previously unnoticed stroke, with the damage to his brain irreversible. Sharing a picture of himself with Shiloh at the hospital, Myles wrote on Instagram: 'Stroke awareness. The hardest part about being parents is the things that are out of your control. 'When Shiloh was around 6 months old we noticed he wasn't using his right hand & it was constantly in a fist. 'As first time parents we didn't think much of it especially because at his developmental checks we mentioned him seeming very left handed & this didn't seem of concern. 'He was pulling himself up to stand at about 12 months & it took him a further 6 months to take his first steps. 'When he started walking, we noticed he was dragging his right foot & family members recommended getting a GP appointment to make sure everything was okay. What unfolded we was not prepared for. 'Multiple appointments & eventually a MRI scan would later show that he had damage on the left side of his brain which had effected his right sided limbs. 'We was told Shiloh had a stroke sometime before, during or shortly after birth. Hearing the words hemiplegic cerebral palsy brought on a rush of anger, confusion & sadness. 'It wasn't being told that your son won't be the next Messi or Ronaldo that hurt. It was the thought that doing his laces, spinning spaghetti on a spoon or playing certain games with friends might be a challenge for him. The small things. 'But… ShiShi doesn't know any different, he figures out how to do things in his own way and although the brain damage can't be reversed we are doing everything possible to help strengthen the right side of his body! 'Shiloh has made so much progress & we are so proud of him taking on challenges he doesn't even know are there! 'Day by day we learn more & this is still very new but we are doing what we can. 'We share this in the hope that it will raise awareness for any other first time parents who notice something a little different in their baby as the sooner you can find out the better it will be in the long run. Myles said Shiloh was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, with the main symptoms of cerebral palsy bring problems with movement, co-ordination and development. Problem signs in a child include delays in reaching development milestones such as not sitting by eight months or not walking by 18 months, seeming too stiff or too floppy, fidgety, jerky or clumsy movements, weak arms or legs, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements, shaking hands and walking on tiptoes. Hemiplegia means one side of the body is affected while monoplegia is where one limb is affected, diplegia is where two limbs are affected, and quadriplegia is where all four limbs, and usually the whole body, are affected.

Devastated boyband star shares hospital snap and reveals he will be on crutches for months
RAK-SU star Myles Stephenson has revealed he will be using crutches for months after an excruciating injury. The singer, 33, shared a snap of himself in hospital with his leg completely bandaged up following the sports related nightmare. 6 6 6 The devastated star revealed he had been playing football when the accident happened. His son Shiloh, is living with a disability after suffering an unseen stroke as a baby. Myles, who has appeared on I'm A Celebrity and Celebrity MasterChef, spoke about his son's condition in an update to his fans in the summer of last year. It was revealed that Shiloh, three, had Hemiplegic cerebral palsy after the stroke had irreversibly damaged his brain. The condition which has left his right side in partial paralysis means that he's required to wear splits to support his legs and frame. Outside of family life Rak-Su have recently released new music, and Myles is no doubt hoping his injury doesn't hold him back. Fox Sports personalities Craig Carton and Mark Schlereth have been blasted by fans for their commentary on Jayson Tatum's recent Achilles injury. The Celtics star went down with a non-contact injury in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Knicks, and the team announced the following day that he had undergone surgery for a ruptured right Achilles tendon. And while the news is a devastating blow for the Celtics in this series and beyond, it will certainly give the Knicks a better chance of progressing after they claimed a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Carton and Schlereth drove home that point in rather tone-deaf fashion afterwards. 'The fans will be like, 'I want their best,' three-time Super Bowl winner Schelereth began on Breakfast Ball. 'I was like, 'No, I don't.' I don't want their best. I pray for all their guys to get hurt and all our guys to stay healthy, and I'm not an animal, not significantly hurt, just miss the game.' 'You never root for injury,' Carton added. 'It was sad to see one of the great players in the sport go down with what is apparently a torn Achilles, which knocks him out for the rest of the postseason and the majority of next year, which sucks. In confirming that Tatum had ruptured his Achilles and announcing he had undergone surgery, the Celtics did not provide a timetable for the six-time All-Star's return. He had played tremendously in what turned out to be a 121-113 Knicks win, scoring 42 points and grabbing eight rebounds before he was forced to leave the game. The Knicks are now one game away from getting back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. Game 5 will be in Boston on Wednesday night, while a potential Game 6 would return to New York. The Celtics would also host Game 7 if they can keep the series alive.
