Adam Kleber, Brodie Ziemer, and Ashton Schultz first laced up their skates together as kids. Three Buffalo Sabres prospects participated in the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase in Minneapolis, MN: 2024 second-round pick Adam Kleber, third-round pick Brodie Ziemer, and fourth-rounder Luke Osburn. The showcase normally is an opportunity to get on Team USA's radar for the upcoming World Junior, but with Kleber and Ziemer members of the gold medal-winning 2025 squad, they are guaranteed a spot on the squad this December no matter how they played. Osburn, 18, is coming off being named the USHL's Defenseman of the Year last season and was the most impressive of the Sabres prospects, but he will have to continue showing progress in his freshman year to have a chance at making the US roster. The Americans lost the tournament finale 6-2 to Canada and ended 1-6 on the week, with only a split squad victory over Finland on the opening day to their credit. final determination may come down to how he does as a freshman at the University of Wisconsin in the fall. First-rounder Konsta Helenius (Finland) did not take part in the tournament, but is a shoo-in to make their roster, as is 2025 top pick Radim Mrtka for Czechia.
