Chaired by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, the meeting focused on enhancing coordination among the state govt departments to ensure the initiative's success at the grassroots level. B Parameswaran, commissioner-cum-secretary of the department of ST, SC development, minorities & backward classes welfare, outlined the programme's core objectives.
The Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan aims to streamline the delivery of key services, housing, roads, education, health, and livelihood, to tribal communities.
As part of the initiative, selected individuals in each village will be trained to lead these efforts, ensuring communities are informed and actively engaged in their own development.
To achieve this, officers from the ST, SC development and allied departments will be trained at the state level, along with district and block-level master trainers. These trainers will form village teams of 20 members, including government staff, local leaders, and community volunteers, to drive development work in tribal areas.
Chief secretary Ahuja stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination and professional expertise to empower tribal communities. He said greater public awareness and participation would improve service delivery and encourage communities to make full use of available schemes and resources.
The meeting ended with a call for cooperation among all stakeholders, including volunteer organisations and panchayati raj representatives, to ensure the programme's success and promote sustainable development in tribal regions.
