West Bengal Madhyamik 2025 result out: 66 students in top 10, districts outshine Kolkata
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the Madhyamik (Class 10) results 2025 on Friday, with 66 candidates securing the top 10 ranks. The overall pass percentage stands at 86.56 per cent, a slight increase from last year's 86.31 per cent. Notably, districts across the state have outperformed Kolkata in this year's exam. Ramanuj Gangopadhyay, president of the Madhyamik Board, announced that while there were 66 students in the top 10 positions, only one student had achieved the first rank. Aditro Sarkar from Rajganj secured the top rank, scoring 696 out of 700 marks, 99.43 per cent. Anubhav Biswas from Malda's Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyamandir and Soumya Pal from Bankura's Bishnupur High School jointly secured the second rank, both scoring 694 marks. Biswas, who aspires to become a doctor and enjoys detective stories, expressed his intention to pursue his future studies under the Delhi Board. 'My parents, didi (elder sister) and teachers have contributed towards success. I am very happy and want to pursue medicine in the future,' he said. Ishani Chakraborty from Bankura achieved the third rank with 693 marks. Mohammad Selim from Purba Burdwan and Supratik Manna from Purba Medinipur shared the fourth position, each scoring 692 marks. In terms of district-wise performance, East Midnapore emerged as the top-performing district in terms of pass percentage, followed by Kalimpong, Kolkata, and West Midnapore. The results have been declared 69 days after the exams concluded. The exams were held at 2,683 centres with 423 custodians overseeing the question papers. This year, the number of candidates whose examinations were cancelled due to unfair means decreased to 19, a considerable drop from the 145 cancellations in 2024. A total of 9,84,753 students registered for the 2025 Madhyamik exams, comprising 4,28,803 male and 5,55,950 female students, marking an increase of over 65,000 candidates compared to the previous year. The official announcement of the results was made at a press conference held by the WBBSE. The distribution of mark sheets and certificates to schools from the board's camp offices will commence soon.

WB Result 2025 Check Online: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the Madhyamik (Class 10) board exam results today. A total of 86.56% of students passed the exam. This year, Purba Medinipur recorded the highest overall pass percentage among all districts, at 96.46%. Aditro Sarkar from Rajganj topped the exam, scoring 696 out of 700 marks - an impressive 99.43%. Anubhab Biswas of Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidya Mandir in Malda and Soumya Pal of Bishnupur High School in Bankura jointly secured the second position, while the third rank was achieved by Ishani Chakraborty from Kotulpur Saroj Basini Balika Vidyalaya in Bankura, with an overall score of 99%. The result is available on the board's official website, and on the NDTV special page. Students can access their scorecards using their roll number and date of birth on the result portals. The top-performing districts include East Midnapore (96.46%), Kalimpong (96.09%), and Kolkata (92.3%). This year, more girls than boys appeared for the West Bengal Class 10 board exams, with 5,55,950 female candidates out of a total of 9,84,753. The theory exams were conducted from February 10 to February 22, while assessments for Physical Education, Social Service, and Work Education were held from March 19 to April 2. All exams were conducted in a single shift, from 10.45am to 2pm, with the first 15 minutes allotted for reading the question paper. Students who did not pass in one or more subjects will have the opportunity to appear for supplementary examinations. The date and schedule for these exams will be announced along with the result declaration. The Madhyamik 2025 mark sheet available online will be provisional. Original mark sheets can be collected from respective schools approximately 15 days after the results are declared.
