WB Result 2025 Check Online: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the Madhyamik (Class 10) board exam results today. A total of 86.56% of students passed the exam. This year, Purba Medinipur recorded the highest overall pass percentage among all districts, at 96.46%. Aditro Sarkar from Rajganj topped the exam, scoring 696 out of 700 marks - an impressive 99.43%. Anubhab Biswas of Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidya Mandir in Malda and Soumya Pal of Bishnupur High School in Bankura jointly secured the second position, while the third rank was achieved by Ishani Chakraborty from Kotulpur Saroj Basini Balika Vidyalaya in Bankura, with an overall score of 99%.
The result is available on the board's official website, wbbse.wb.gov.in, and on the NDTV special page. Students can access their scorecards using their roll number and date of birth on the result portals.
The top-performing districts include East Midnapore (96.46%), Kalimpong (96.09%), and Kolkata (92.3%).
This year, more girls than boys appeared for the West Bengal Class 10 board exams, with 5,55,950 female candidates out of a total of 9,84,753.
The theory exams were conducted from February 10 to February 22, while assessments for Physical Education, Social Service, and Work Education were held from March 19 to April 2. All exams were conducted in a single shift, from 10.45am to 2pm, with the first 15 minutes allotted for reading the question paper.
Students who did not pass in one or more subjects will have the opportunity to appear for supplementary examinations. The date and schedule for these exams will be announced along with the result declaration. The Madhyamik 2025 mark sheet available online will be provisional. Original mark sheets can be collected from respective schools approximately 15 days after the results are declared.

While CBSE and ICSE gained from the question paper rejig, Madhyamik, which did not make many changes, saw a comparatively lower pass percentage. This year, Madhyamik pass percentage was 86.6, slightly higher than last year's 86.4.

West Bengal district schools shine in State board exams, top ranks across categories
Several schools across West Bengal have emerged as beacons of academic excellence, with multiple students securing top ranks in the recently declared State board exam results for Class 10, Class 12, and High Madrasah examinations. The results, released by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), and the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME) in the first week of May, have brought immense pride to these institutions. 'We are overjoyed with the results of the higher secondary examinations this year. We ensure that we monitor our students closely throughout the academic year, studying their strengths and weaknesses from a young age,' Bikash Chandra Ray, Principal of Arambagh High School in Hooghly, told The Hindu. The school made a remarkable showing with three students featuring in the State's top 10 ranks for the WBCHSE Class 12 exams, securing third, fifth, and tenth positions. Mr. Ray added that another student, who missed the tenth rank by just one mark, has applied for a review. Arambagh High School, with a total of 233 higher secondary examinees from a student body of around 2,800, recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 97.42%, with 28 students scoring above 90%. 'We believe in individual attention. We provide specialised classes when requested, and regularly engage with the students' guardians. We also make personal visits to students' homes if they need motivation or counseling,' Mr. Ray said, attributing the success to his school's holistic approach. The 164-year-old institution, under Mr. Ray's leadership since 2021, has consistently produced toppers in both the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams. In Uttar Dinajpur, Raiganj Coronation High School, founded 114 years ago, also celebrated significant success in the Class 10 Madhyamik exams, with students securing the first and tenth ranks. Kalicharan Saha, the principal, credited the success to a combination of hard work and discipline. 'Our students are regular, diligent, and always listen to their teachers. Securing the first rank is a rare achievement, but our students have earned this through years of consistent effort,' said Mr. Saha. Meanwhile, Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in South 24 Parganas achieved a unique distinction by placing two students in the top 10 of the Class 10 Madhyamik examination and four in the Class 12 Higher Secondary merit list. Headmaster Swami Ishteshanada noted that this year's achievements were especially remarkable, as four students who topped the Class 12 exams had also been featured in the Class 10 merit list in 2023. The four top scorers in the Class 12 exams included twin brothers who shared the ninth rank. They had secured the fourth and sixth ranks in the Class 10 exams last year, demonstrating the consistency and quality of education provided at the school. 'These results reflect the continuity in our educational approach, especially in classes 11 and 12, and I am confident that our toppers have very bright futures ahead,' Swami Ishteshanada said. In Malda district, Bhagabanpur High Madrasah also made its mark, with four students from the school securing positions in the top 10 of the 2025 High Madrasah examination. Headmaster Badrul Islam expressed his delight at the results, especially as the school had initially expected only two of its students to secure top ranks. 'While much of the credit belongs to the students, our teachers played a crucial role in their success,' he said. Islam emphasized the school's rigorous preparatory system, which includes remedial classes before board exams, and noted that many current toppers were following in the footsteps of elder siblings who had also topped the exams. The school, he added, has a legacy of producing toppers each year. West Bengal WBBSE announces Class 10th date sheet for 2026 Madhyamik exams
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has announced the Class 10 exam datesheets for the 2026 exams. The West Bengal Board Class 10 Madhyamik exams in 2026 will be held between February 2 to February 12, 2026. The WB 2026 Madhyamik exams will begin with the first languages paper on February 2, followed by second languages exam on February 3. The Class 10 WB Madhyamik exam will end with optional elective subjects on February 12. The examination will be held in only one paper on each day from 10:45 am to 2 pm. The first 15 minutes have been allotted to read the question paper. WBBSE Madhyamik 2026 Exams The dates of physical education and social service and work education will be announced later, the board said. The first language papers consists of Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurumukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Santali. The second languages paper consists of English (if any language other than English is offered as First Language) and Bengali or Nepali (if English is the First Language). Examination in music vocal and music instrumental will be of two hours fifteen minutes duration for theoretical portion. The venue, date and time of the practical examination in these subjects will be announced later. The WB Madhyamik 2026 practical exams will be held at Kolkata only. Examination on computer application will be of two hours 45 minutes duration on theoretical examination. Practical examination will be taken by individual schools. The examination on vocational subjects will be of one hour 45 minutes duration on theoretical examination and practical examination on these subjects will be taken by the Sector Skill Council or individual schools.
