Chakradharpur rail division counsels locals on track safety

1 2 Jamshedpur: After a major derailment was avoided, officials of the Chakradharpur railway division have gone on alert mode to prevent such incidents caused by miscreants. Late on Sunday, the Itwari-Tatanagar Express (18110) narrowly missed a major accident after it ran over a rock placed by miscreants on the down line near the Sonua railway station in Chakradharpur, West Singhbhum. An immediate investigation by the track maintenance staff, along with the Railway Police Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, into the incident found that large stones were placed on three adjoining tracks on both up and down lines. Incidentally, the Shalimar-LTT Express, the Karambhoomi Superfast Express, and the Tatanagar-Itwari train, which were about to proceed towards Rourkela, were stopped at the Sonua station till the stones were removed. According to railway officials, a joint team of railway security and state police has been formed for surveillance of the tracks on the Chakradharpur-Rourkela section on an immediate basis. Additionally, four separate teams of RPF visited nearby villages at Sonua station on Tuesday to counsel the villagers, particularly the teenagers. "Along with the counselling, an extensive probe is underway to identify the culprits for necessary legal action," the senior divisional manager (commercial) of Chakradharpur division, Aditya Chaudhary, said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 11 Foods That Help In Healing Knee Pain Naturally | Zen Life Mag Undo Earlier on August 7, the Howrah-Pune Duronto Express avoided a potentially serious accident when it hit a six-meter-long rail (a disintegrated piece of the track) lying on the track at the Mahadevsal station. The impact of the collision was so significant that the rail flew into the air and landed on a passenger seating bench on the platform. Fortunately, no one was sitting on the bench at the time. The cattle guard of the Duronto Express was also badly damaged in the collision. The incident happened after the track maintenance squad of the railways, which was shifting the redundant rails from the site, panicked upon seeing the train approaching rapidly, dumped the rail on the track and hurriedly ran away from the spot. 1 2 Jamshedpur: The Chakradharpur divisional railway has taken multiple steps to control Shravan crowd at the Tatanagar station. Five teams comprising the commercial staff, govt railway police, and railway police force (RPF) have been formed to regulate people at the platform when the trains for Baidyanath Dham and Kashi Vishwanath arrive there. The railways has formed a dedicated team of TTEs to conduct random ticket checking and stop people from boarding the train without an authorised ticket. Only those with reservation tickets will be allowed to board the sleeper coaches. The railways will also set up a makeshift holding area with a 100-chair capacity at the parking lots for commuters to sit and wait for their trains. Further, 10 RPF jawans in plain clothes will travel on the crowded trains to keep an eye on thieves and drug gangs. The authorities have asked officials to make regular announcements of the trains arriving at and departing from the station. Furthermore, there should not be a last-minute platform change announcement for the trains, as directed by the authorities to the station officials. In addition to this, public redressal counters will also be opened. A control room will be set up at the station for live monitoring of the crowd through CCTVs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 이 게임은 대부분의 TV 프로그램보다 더 재미있어요 – 게다가 무료예요. SER holds jumbo detection system run to curb collision

1 2 Jamshedpur: The Chakradharpur divisional railway under the South Eastern Railway (SER) on Sunday conducted a trial of the AI-driven elephant intrusion detection system installed on the Howrah-Mumbai route to prevent train-elephant collisions. The test run was held at the railway engineering colony ground on the Manoharpur-Rourkela stretch of the Howrah-Mumbai route to read and map the data collected by the system. The Rs 15 crore facility would be a real-time response system backed by algorithms to monitor and detect the presence of wildlife. It would use artificial intelligence-enabled distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology to register the footsteps of approaching elephants by detecting vibrations transmitted through fibre optic cables buried alongside the tracks. It would allow the railways to take necessary precautions, including stopping or reducing the speed of trains, to give safe passage to elephants, railway officials said. The senior commercial manager and spokesperson of the Chakradharpur divisional, Aditya Chaudhary, said, "The first day trial was successful in learning how the system works. The mapping of the movement of the elephants near the tracks will be done and related data will be collected in the subsequent trial." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scam Exposed: What They Won't Tell You about zero trust! A Gujarat-based private enterprise, which is an information provider based on deep-tech, has been awarded the tender for the installation of the device. The railways have identified Manoharpur-Rourkela, Chakulia-Ghatsila, Jaraikela-Mahadevsal, and Dhutra-Bagadih on the Howrah-Mumbai route, besides Manikui-Chandil and Kunki-Chandil on the Howrah-Delhi route for installing the device in the first phase. The railway line crosses through the forest areas of Saranda, Porahat, Kolhan, Dalma, and Chakulia. Cases of elephants coming into contact with trains have been reported in these forest locations in the past years. Nine elephants lost their lives in five incidents of train-elephant collisions in the three districts of the Kolhan division between 8 August 2018 and 9 May 2024. In April this year, the Chandil forest ranger wrote a letter to the railways requesting slow running of the trains on the Chandil-Biramdih tracks.

Redevelopment project of Tatanagar railway station put on fast track: SER

1 2 3 Jamshedpur: Officials in South Eastern Railways and the Chakradharpur railway division are trying to fast-track the process of selecting an agency to carry out the redevelopment of Tatanagar railway station. "Technical evaluation of the documents is presently being done, and subsequently, financial evaluation will be done ahead of the finalisation of the agency," Aditya Chaudhary, public relations officer of Chakradharpur railway division, said. Ten agencies participated in the tendering process and submitted their documents, Chaudhary said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the project in February last year and the railways has sanctioned Rs 348 crore for the project. Notably, the 110-year-old Tatanagar station handles 100-plus trains daily, and it is the only A1 category station in the division. Senior officials at the division said the rebuilding work will begin in five months. The redevelopment plan involves adding new platforms, constructing a new model building, and removing encroachments from a wide area in the vicinity of the platform. "Besides that, the laying of the third and fourth lines between Tatanagar and Gamharia stations is also part of the redevelopment plan," Arun Huria, divisional railway manager of Chakradharpur, said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 오스템 임플란트 받아가세요 임플란터 더 알아보기 Undo The railway plans to add three more platforms to the existing five at Tatanagar and ensure all eight platforms are equipped with escalator and lift facilities to aid Divyang commuters in reaching the foot over bridge (FOB) for entering and exiting the station.
