More arrests over Eyres Monsell stabbing
Police have arrested four more people over a stabbing outside a house in were called to Lawford Road, in Eyres Monsell, shortly after 21:15 BST on Friday after a man in his 20s was stabbed on Sturdee Road. Following the arrest of a 36-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder, Leicestershire Police said it had arrested two men aged 18 and 19 on suspicion of the same offence.A 38-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, and a third woman, aged 25, on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The 18-year-old man and the 25-year-old woman remain in police custody while the other three suspects have been released on police bail while investigations continue.A spokesperson for the police said the injured man had made his way to Lawford Road following the stabbing and was taken to hospital, where he remained in a stable condition. The man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Police said the suspects and the man were known to each force added house-to-house inquiries were under way and a "thorough examination" of the scene had been carried out. "We believe the stabbing happened shortly before 9.15pm," Det Sgt Adrian Davies said."It was still light at that time and with the weather being very warm there were probably quite a few people who were in the area or in their gardens."If you saw something or heard something that might help with our investigation, please contact us."
