'I'm a shopping writer and this stylish River Island dress is my payday pick'
If you're in the mood to treat yourself now that payday has finally arrived, this stylish River Island buy is what I'd recommend adding to your basket this month Payday is finally here after what feels like one of the longest months, and if you're anything like me, you've mentally spent half your paycheck already. However, this year I'm all about shopping more consciously and not over-purchasing products I'll only wear or use once, and so I'm limiting myself to just one treat (maybe two) per month. Part of my job involves scrolling through new-in sections, so I'm pretty clued up on what's around this month, and one dress in particular was my standout for May's payday. The dress in question is River Island's Blue Atlas Printed Maxi dress, priced at £56. A few other items did catch my eye, including Topshop's poplin pull-on wide-leg trousers in green stripe, £40, Abercrombie & Fitch's Scarlett Mid Rise Sequin Mini Skort, £65, and Phlur's new Beach Skin Body Mist, £25. However, the maxi dress came out on top this month. River Island has collaborated with Atlas, founded by contemporary artist Adrianne Dimitrakakis, and the collection is literally my dream summer holiday wardrobe in one range. As soon as I spotted the printed maxi dress, I knew it would be the perfect payday splurge. The whole collaboration is about capturing the fun and essence of travel through playful prints and vibrant colours. And that's exactly what this maxi dress does. If you're into joyful and dopamine dressing, this is the perfect summer wardrobe addition. With a flattering square neckline, sleeveless cut, and playful print, this maxi totally nails that relaxed-but-stylish vibe that I look to channel when I'm on holiday. The cotton-linen blend is ideal for the summer months. Both fabrics are known for their breathability and natural moisture-wicking properties, meaning this dress will keep you cool, airy, and dry. Of course, the bold sun and palm tree-print design is the biggest appeal of this dress. Simply chuck on a pair of toe-ring sandals and some oversized sunnies for a beach-to-alfresco dinner outfit. If you have little ones, the dress will also be available to shop in girls' sizes for £36. This is currently not in stock but will be coming soon.

River Island's new influencer-loved summer dress is so popular it is 'selling fast'
Fashion fans on TikTok are "obsessed" with the vibrant maxi dress. Jetting off somewhere tropical this summer? Then chances are that a shopping spree for some vibrant, loose-fitting clothes is on the cards. One high street firm that has been impressing fashion fans this season has been River Island, with its latest capsule collection in collaboration with Atlas Art founder Adrianne Dimitrakakis going viral. While multiple items in the limited-edition line are "trending" online, one that seems to have been singled out by influencers is the Blue Atlas Printed Maxi Dress - and it's already "selling fast." The £56 summer frock boasts a vibrant travel-inspired print that reinterprets one of Dimitrakakis' own hand-drawn artworks, all which are famed for their remote island, overlooked coastal caves and Mediterranean store fronts. This print will add a statement piece to your wardrobe, as it boasts palm trees, suns, slogans and more against a multicoloured canvas of pinks, greens, yellows and blues. River Island Blue Atlas Printed Maxi Dress Product Description Falling to a practical maxi-length hemline, the Atlas Printed Dress features a chic square neckline and hangs from two chunky straps. Paired with sandals and sunglasses, it can easily be worn by the pool, to the beach and out for dinner when on vacation. It's worth noting that River Island is not the only retailer to go wild for tropical-inspired prints this summer, as we have also spotted Nobody's Child's Cream Printed Cassidy Midi Dress with a bold, vintage pattern for £89. Alternatively, New Look offers a very similar alternative with its Blue Vanilla Multicoloured Fruit Print Midi Dress that is a little more affordable at £35. However, those taken with the River Island x Atlas dress wouldn't be alone, as travel influencer @travelswithdarcie singled it out of the entire collection in a recent TikTok video that was captioned: "Atlas x River Island Collection is GIVING for summer holiday outfits." Viewers of the clip were quick to agree, as one rushed to say: "The dress omg I'm obsessed!!!" A second viewer taken with the frock added: "Love this dress it's fab." While a third added: "Aw the dress is so pretty! love the colours." Meanwhile, River Island also mentioned the dress in a dedicated TikTok video calling it "the perfect summer dress." Since the River Island website does not provide official reviews, there doesn't seem to be any negative critique at the moment. However, on Trustpilot, River Island has a 3.6 rating, with 50 per cent of reviews being one star. Right now, the dress is still available to buy in sizes XS to XL, although, it is "trending" and "selling fast", so it may run out of stock soon. River Island launches limited-edition summer collab with contemporary artist
Fashion retailer River Island has revealed the latest offer in its 'Behind the Design' series, an exclusive limited-edition collection created in collaboration with contemporary artist Adrianne Dimitrakakis, founder of Atlas. The drop 'fuses fashion with storytelling, transforming Adrianne's distinctive hand-drawn artwork into 45 bold, bespoke summer pieces'. Rooted in the artist's 'spirit of exploration', each sun-washed design is inspired by her travels across remote islands and off-the-map destinations giving inspiration to her vintage-inspired aesthetic. Thus, every print in the collection 'tells a story; and every piece becomes a keepsake… echoing her illustrated maps, collected trinkets, and the nostalgic charm of vintage posters… to brighten every summer wardrobe'. Key pieces include dresses, printed blazers for women, tailored shorts (sizes XS-XL), and linen shirts for men. The collection also features a kids' range including boys (1-14 years in one style), 5-14 years in the rest, and older girls (5-14 years). In April, River Island's Behind The Design series also launched a curated resortwear collaboration with Latin-Australian swimwear brand Del Maar. The series has previously featured independent creatives such as Sheffield-based visual artist and photographer Joe Horner, who created an occasionwear collection inspired by his award-winning artworks.
