Kettering water park to remain closed Saturday, Sunday; Memorial Day a question
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — If your Memorial Day Weekend plans involved a local water park, you may need to revise them. The City of Kettering has announced that due to expected below-normal temperatures Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, it will not be opening its Adventure Reef Water Park, 2900 Glengarry Dr. The city said that while the outdoor water park is closed, the indoor pool will offer its regular swim hours. A local water park will move its opening due to unseasonable temperatures this weekend. Storm Center 7 Weather Specialist Nick Dunn said highs will reach the upper 60s today and tomorrow. The City of Kettering Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department said on social media that its opening is now scheduled for Monday. 'As a reminder, the water park will not open if there is a storm or the temperature is not expected to hit 70 degrees,' the park said. 'We apologize for any inconvenience.
