Business of the Week: Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is the Greater Binghamton Chamber Business of the Week.
Bridgewater is located at the corner of North and Front Streets where a nursing home was first opened in 1968. The building was expanded in the 1970's and Upstate Services Group purchased the facility in 2005.
Bridgewater has 356 beds for both short term rehab and long-term care, as well as a number of specialty care units. Those include memory care, dialysis, ventilators and patients with tracheostomies.
Corporate Admissions Director Stephanie Aeppli says those with medically complex conditions don't have to leave town to find the care that they need.
'We actually have a great culture here. The staff is very close. We take care of a lot of clinically complex people here. If you're looking to further your nursing degree and you're looking to get some experience, with us having vents, traches, we take some higher IV needs, wound care. It's a great place to get some experience with that too and learn,' said Aeppli.
Bridgewater employs over 500 workers and is hiring. It has also applied for approval to add additional dialysis chairs, both for in and out-patient care, to address a specific need in our community.
