Agadir police arrest two British nationals wanted by Interpol
Elements of the Agadir Prefectural Police arrested two British nationals on Saturday, based on precise intelligence provided by Morocco's General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). Both individuals were the subject of international arrest warrants issued by the UK judicial authorities.
The arrests took place in the Anza district of Agadir. According to a security source, a check through the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) database revealed that one of the suspects was wanted on an international warrant for alleged involvement in a homicide case.
The second individual was the subject of a red notice issued by British authorities for failing to appear in court and violating the conditions of his parole.
Both suspects have been placed in custody as part of extradition proceedings. The British authorities have been notified to begin the necessary formalities, the same source added.
This operation is part of ongoing international security cooperation and reflects Morocco's continued efforts to apprehend individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
