Coronation Street star is worlds away from Weatherfield with forgotten role in blockbuster Marvel series - but do you recognise him?

A Coronation Street star looks worlds away from Weatherfield in a forgotten role from a blockbuster Marvel series. Mick Michaelis, played by Joe Layton, moved in to Mawdsley Street with his wife Lou (Farrel Hegarty) back in February. The villainous character has already found himself caught up in drama and has had conflicts with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). Just last month, he attacked Sean Tully (Antony Cotton). However, the soap star behind Mick has featured in a blockbuster series - Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joe played Lieutenant Lucas in the show which follows a team of law enforcement agents as they tackle threats. Lt Lucas started out an Air Force officer and in the end, was executed by General Hale after he didn't manage to capture S.H.I.E.L.D members Lance Hunter and Leo Fitz. In his Marvel costume, Joe looks completely different to his soap opera attire and donned a smart suit in the series. Aphotograph of him in character shows Joe wearing a dark suit and red tie. His stint on Coronation Street is coming to an end soon, too. It was revealed back in March that Joe would be leaving the cobbles in July. Joe's role was always supposed to be temporary after he originally joined on a fixed contract for a special storyline, with no 'shock' exit planned. An insider has since told The Mirror that Mick's character will remain on screen until late July, with the soap source teasing there was 'lots more to come'. Corrie's Mick and wife Lou have caused quite a stir on the Cobbles with their arrival as they quickly made friends with Chesney and Gemma. After landing the role, Joe explained that it was a dream come true to join the ITV show. He said: 'Coronation Street is such an institute in British television and to get to walk down the cobbles in Mick's shoes is so exciting. 'To also do it alongside Farrel is awesome - we are having great fun together and connecting really well whilst developing our characters. 'It also gives the opportunity to get a look behind the curtain of this huge machine and be a small cog within the big picture of Coronation Street and to work alongside people who take such pride in their work.
