Suniel Shetty says people may have tried to remove Ahan Shetty from movies due to issues with him: 'Mere se naaraaz honge but he is a part of Border 2, Varun, Diljit treat him like a brother'

Suniel Shetty has opened up about the challenges his son Ahan Shetty has faced in the film industry, claiming that Ahan was deliberately sidelined from multiple projects after signing on for Border 2. The original 1997 war drama, in which Suniel played a significant role, holds a special place in Indian cinema. Now, years later, Ahan is stepping into the spotlight with a major role in its sequel. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Suniel was asked how Ahan could be removed from films despite being his son. Suniel had earlier said that many people tried that Ahan is not a part of the film. He replied candidly, saying, 'That doesn't matter. Maybe mujhse galti hui hogi and mujhse naaraaz honge (May be I had done a mistake, and they are angry with me), and they want to take it out on somebody else. You can't change destiny. Ahan is very much a part of Border 2, and it is because of this film that he has gained so much appreciation, and he got friends like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh . They love him like a younger brother.' He also spoke about whether he feels the need to protect Ahan from the harsh realities of the film world, given his own experiences over the years. 'In anything, you will have to do hard work. There are no shortcuts, and Ahan's first film did well during the pandemic and the film did business of Rs 35-40 crores and had an opening of Rs 4-5 crore even during the pandemic. Fingers crossed, I hope Border 2 crosses Rs 500 crore, and I pray Ahan is also appreciated along with Sunny Deol, Varun, and Diljit,' he shared. He further said, "Ahan has now got some great movies, not because he's my son but because he's got a personality, a great voice and he's a really good student. He looks up to people, respects people. He's got many traits of my further." Suniel also praised the success of Saiyaara, which stars debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. He called it a milestone moment for the industry. 'It is unbelievable. There is no substitute to hard work, and that is Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's story. Now it is a big responsibility because they have given a new generation a chance, and maybe this is the turning point for the industry where producers might think that youngsters should get more opportunities. Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Suniel Shetty was asked how people in the industry could remove Ahan from films despite him being his son. He responded, saying, 'That doesn't matter. There are no shortcuts, and Ahan's first film did well during the pandemic and the film did business of Rs 35-40 crores and had an opening of Rs 4-5 crore even during the pandemic. Now it is a big responsibility because they have given a new generation a chance, and maybe this is the turning point for the industry where producers might think that youngsters should get more opportunities.' Earlier, during an interaction with Zoom, Suniel had shared that his son faced backlash after he signed Border 2 over other projects. He said, 'Ahan let go of many things for this film. A lot of opportunities slipped out of his hands due to egos. He was removed from films and then blamed. Rumours were spread that he comes with expensive bodyguards, and paid articles were published.' He added, 'Stories were made up because Ahan wanted to do Border, while others wanted their own films to be made. Everything was manipulated.'

Suniel Shetty: Ahan and I work hard towards our fitness

Ahan and Suniel Shetty The saying 'like father, like son' fits the Shetty family perfectly. Just as Suniel Shetty embraced fitness in his youth, his son and actor Ahan also committed himself to a healthy lifestyle from an early age. But it's not just a bond between father and son—Suniel reveals that this dedication to health and fitness began a generation earlier, with his own father. Offering insight into how fitness values have been passed down through the family, Suniel shared, 'My father didn't go to a gym, but he would walk 15 kms a day. He was someone who believed in eating right and having half an hour of sleep, which he called the powernap in the afternoon. I remember whenever his car used to get stuck at the Kemps Corner because of traffic, he would just get down and start walking towards the restaurant he ran. ' Clearly, these habits left a mark. Suniel inherited this disciplined lifestyle from his father, and today, his children are continuing that legacy. When asked which of his children—Ahan or Athiya—is more inclined towards fitness, Suniel quickly replied, 'It was always Ahan. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Top 15 Most Beautiful Women in the World Undo Well, Ahan and I had to work towards our fitness. After a tough 2-3 years it was his fitness, zest for sports and life that has kept Ahan going and now he's doing so well.' Suniel spoke to us at the launch of Aquatein's collagen water, where he serves as brand ambassador. The protein water and functional beverage brand, founded by Ananth Prabhala and Mitisha Mehta, focuses on wellness and nutrition. Talking about the benefits of such products, he said, 'It's the kind of water that doesn't bloat you. Staying hydrated is important plus you get the benefit of protein. So, if you are training and are active you get its benefits. ' The actor, who was seen in films like Kesari Veer and Nadaaniyan this year, also expressed his happiness over the growing interest in diverse sports across India. He remarked, 'The best thing that has happened post lockdown is that I am seeing a lot of sports has come up, the grounds and multiple avenues opened up and now people are playing paddle, pickle ball, soccer and cricket. Today you hear a lot of noise where kids are busy playing sports. This kind of noise pollution I don't mind (laughs).'

‘Pretty lost' Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty hop on Pune metro after wrapping ‘Border 2' shoot

Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, who are currently shooting for the highly anticipated war drama 'Border 2' alongside Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh, recently had an amusing detour in Pune — one that involved getting lost and hopping onto the city metro. In a video shared on Instagram by Ahan Shetty, the actor can be seen filming himself and Ahan inside a metro compartment. The light-hearted clip begins with Varun saying, 'Right now, we are in Pune. We are pretty lost. So Ahan and me are getting on this metro and trying to get to our hotel. The actors had reportedly just wrapped up the first schedule of the film, and the spontaneous metro ride was part of their effort to find their way back to their hotel. Ahan captioned the video,'1st sched done…. Maza aaya (sic),' which translates to 'First schedule done, had fun.' The video quickly caught fans' attention, with many reacting to the unexpected metro ride. Several commuters recognised the actors and could be seen trying to click pictures through the window. Suniel Shetty, Ahan's father, commented under the video using a red heart emoji in place of the word 'love', simply writing, '❤️ it (sic).' The comments section was filled with amused and affectionate reactions. One user joked, 'bro took a metro in pune—Pune people don't take that (sic)!' Another wrote, 'Pune just got way cooler (sic),' while a third encouraged the actors, saying, 'How sweet… hope Border 2 brings your best performance. All the best… keep enjoying (sic).' 'Border 2' is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster 'Border', and expectations are high with an ensemble cast and a patriotic storyline. The film's first schedule seems to have wrapped up on a positive and rather adventurous note for Varun and Ahan - as seen in the video.
