Trump could be hit by drone while sunbathing: Iranian official

Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, a senior Iranian official has warned that US President Donald Trump is no longer safe, even within the confines of his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago. In a provocative remark aired on Iranian state television, Javad Larijani — a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — suggested that Trump could be targeted while has done something that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago. As he lies there with his stomach to the sun, a small drone might hit him in the navel. It's very simple," Larijani said, referring to Trump's role in the 2020 killing of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. The threat coincides with the emergence of an online crowdfunding campaign dubbed Blood Pact (or Ahde Khoun in Farsi), which claims to have raised over USD 27 million as of July 8. The platform aims to fund retribution against perceived enemies of Iran's leadership, particularly those involved in actions against Supreme Leader platform's homepage includes a pledge to award the bounty 'to anyone who can bring the enemies of God and those who threaten the life of Ali Khamenei to justice.'Iranian state-linked media, including Fars News Agency, have reported on the campaign, with calls for public support in Iran and developments come in the wake of heightened conflict in the region, including U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites and threats of retaliation from Tehran. Iranian Official Warns Donald Trump Could Be Killed At Mar-a-Lago: 'Drone Might Hit Him'

Last Updated: Javad Larijani, a close advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, said in a televised interview that Trump's actions have made him a marked man A senior Iranian official has warned that US President Donald Trump is no longer safe at his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, suggesting he could be targeted even while sunbathing. Javad Larijani, a close advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a prominent political figure, said in a televised interview that Trump's actions have made him a marked man, Iran International reported. Larijani casually remarked that it would be easy for a small drone to strike the US President while lying in the sun. 'Trump has done something that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago. As he lies there with his stomach to the sun, a small drone might hit him in the navel. It's very simple," he said. Bounty On Trump The remarks come after a crowdfunding platform was launched offering a bounty for Trump. The platform, called Blood Pact or Ahde Khoun in Farsi, was created to fund what it describes as 'retribution against those who mock and threaten the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei." By the evening of 7 July, the site claimed to have raised over $20 million, with the total exceeding $27 million by the next morning. Its stated aim is to collect $100 million as a bounty for Trump's killing. 'We pledge to award the bounty to anyone who can bring the enemies of God and those who threaten the life of Ali Khamenei to justice," a message on the platform's homepage reads. Trump has faced repeated assassination threats since he authorised the killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq in 2020. US authorities have revealed that the IRGC had been involved in planning an assassination attempt against Trump. Meanwhile, Fars News Agency, which is closely linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, reported on the launch of the Blood Pact campaign and encouraged religious groups in Iran and overseas to gather outside Western embassies and in public squares to show support for Supreme Leader. Fatwa Issued The outlet also called for the enforcement of 'Islamic rulings on moharebeh" against both Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In Iran's legal system, moharebeh—a term meaning 'waging war against God"—is considered a serious offence and is punishable by death. Last month, Iran's Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi had issued a fatwa against the US President and Netanyahu, calling them 'enemies of God" and urging Muslims worldwide to take action. Ayatollah Makarem's fatwa declared that anyone who threatens or attacks the leadership and authority of the Islamic Ummah (community) is considered a 'warlord" or 'criminal of mohareb," a term used in Iran's penal code for one who wages war against God. According to Iran's Islamic Penal Code, a person proven to be a mohareb may face severe punishments: execution, crucifixion, amputation of the right hand and left foot, or exile. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
