Sousa's contract signing ceremony set for Thursday
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Football Association, hosted a dinner the day before yesterday in honor of the national team's Portuguese coach, Helio Sousa, and his assistant staff. The event was attended by Mubarak Abdulaziz, Vice Chairman for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Osama Hussein, Vice Chairman for Technical Affairs, and Fahad Al-Hamlan, Board member. Sheikh Al-Yousef also announced that the contract signing ceremony for the national team's technical staff is scheduled for next Thursday evening. However, the press conference to officially introduce the coach and his assistants has been postponed until further notice.

Inspired by the iconic Khaleeji Zain 26 logo that captivated fans across the region KUWAIT: Zain Kuwait, the strategic partner of the Kuwait Football Association (KFA), unveiled the refreshed visual identity of the Zain Premier League (Dawri Zain) during the official draw ceremony for the 2025–2026 season. The event was held in the presence of KFA President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Corporate Relations Department Manager at Zain Kuwait Hamad Al-Musaibeeh, as well as representatives from the KFA, football clubs and the local sports media. The ceremony featured the official reveal of the new league logo, which Zain redesigned to reflect the spirit of Kuwait and its cultural heritage. The logo draws inspiration from the iconic visual identity of the Khaleeji Zain 26 tournament, which Kuwait hosted to great success under Zain's sponsorship at the end of last year. The design incorporates symbolic elements from Kuwait's environment and culture, including desert dunes, the Kuwaiti boom (sailing ship), the camel, the Arabic letter 'Alif' to represent the Arabic language, and the traditional 'iqal' headband, all creatively combined into the shape of the league's emblem. His teammate Yousef Nasser earned the Top Local Scorer title, along with KD 5,000. Vitor Vieira from Fahaheel SC was recognized as the Top Professional Scorer, also receiving KD 5,000. The Goalkeeper of the Season award went to Saud Al-Houshan of Kuwait SC, who was awarded KD 5,000. Nebojša Jovović, also from Kuwait SC, was honored as Coach of the Season, taking home KD 3,000. The Rising Star of the Season title was awarded to Jassim Matar of Qadsia SC, with a prize of KD 2,000. Zain also celebrated standout performers in the youth divisions. In the Blue League (Under 21), Saleh Al-Mutheb of Kazma was named Best Player. His teammate Hussein Kankouni received the award for Best Goalkeeper, while Abdullah Al-Awadhi from Qadsia SC was the Top Scorer. In the Under 19 League, Fadhel Al-Sarraf of Qadsia SC claimed the Best Player title and also emerged as Top Scorer. His teammate Abdulaziz Abdeen was named Best Goalkeeper. In the Under 17 League, Abdullah Al-Rasheedi from Al-Arabi SC won Best Player. Ahmed Al-Hazzaa of Al-Salmiya SC was awarded Best Goalkeeper, and Jaber Sanan of Kazma was the league's Top Scorer. In the Under 15 League, Saad Al-Shammari of Qadsia SC was recognized as Best Player.
