National Security Adviser and Jordanian Intelligence Chief Discuss Continued Cooperation in Counterterrorism
The National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, met today, Thursday, with the Director of the Jordanian General Intelligence Department, Major General Ahmad Hosni, to discuss the continuation of cooperation in the field of counterterrorism.
According to a statement from the media office of the National Security Adviser, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), 'National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji met with the Director of the Jordanian General Intelligence Department, Major General Ahmad Hosni, in the Russian capital.' The statement explained that 'the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 13th International Meeting of Senior Officials Responsible for Security Issues, held in Moscow.'
The statement added that 'Al-Araji discussed with the Jordanian intelligence chief the overall situation in the region and the importance of supporting the security and stability of sisterly Syria, in addition to reviewing continued cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.'
The Jordanian side expressed its 'full readiness to coordinate with Iraq on joint matters of mutual interest that contribute to the security and stability of both countries and the region.'
