ISKANDAR PUTERI: The operation to hoist the wreckage of the police helicopter that crashed into Sungai Pulai in Gelang Patah is expected to begin at 8am on Thursday (July 17). A multi-agency coordination meeting was held on Wednesday (July 16) co-chaired by Johor internal security and public order department chief SAC Muhd Zailani Abdullah and Subang Air Operations Force deputy commander (Operations) SAC Ahmad Lokman Abdul Hadi and was attended by 25 officers from various relevant agencies. The agencies are the Putrajaya Air Accident Investigation Bureau, the Navy, Johor Region Two marine police, Johor Port Authority, Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Fire and Rescue Department, Health Ministry and Iskandar Puteri police headquarters. An integrated operations command centre has also been set up near the crash site as the main control centre to coordinate daily tasks, including rescue, safety and medical operations. Following the meeting, Muhd Zailani and Ahmad Lokman inspected the location of the helicopter wreckage by boat to assess technical requirements and safety aspects ahead of the hoisting operation. Several Navy divers are expected to conduct dives to examine the wreckage before the hoisting operation. An ambulance was also on standby at the site. In the 10.15am incident on Thursday, an AS355N police helicopter was involved in an accident during a flypast demonstration as part of the Multilateral Nuclear Security Detection Exercise 2025. All five crew members were successfully rescued by marine police. – Bernama

ISKANDAR PUTERI, July 16 (Bernama) -- The operation to hoist the wreckage of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) helicopter that crashed into Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah, is expected to begin at 8 am tomorrow, following a multi-agency coordination meeting today. The meeting was co-chaired by Johor Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) chief SAC Muhd Zailani Abdullah and Subang Air Operations Force (PGU) deputy commander (Operations) SAC Ahmad Lokman Abdul Hadi, and was attended by 25 officers from various relevant agencies. The agencies are the Putrajaya Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BSKU), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Johor Region Two Marine Police, Johor Port Authority, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Ministry of Health (MOH), and Iskandar Puteri Police headquarters. An integrated operations command centre has also been set up near the crash site as the main control centre to coordinate daily tasks, including rescue, safety, and medical operations. A check by Bernama at the site found that, following the meeting, Muhd Zailani and Ahmad Lokman inspected the location of the helicopter wreckage by boat to assess technical requirements and safety aspects ahead of the hoisting operation. Several RMN diving team members are expected to conduct dives to examine the condition of the wreckage as an initial step before the hoisting operation, as well as to inspect their diving equipment. An ambulance was also on standby at the site for any rescue task. In the 10.15 am incident on Thursday, an AS355N helicopter belonging to the PDRM was involved in an accident during a flypast demonstration as part of the Multilateral Nuclear Security Detection Exercise (MITSATOM) 2025, which involved four countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. All five crew members were successfully rescued by the Marine Police.

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The police helicopter wreckage that crashed into Sungai Pulai during a security drill last week is expected to be lifted tomorrow. The salvage operation was finalised during an inter-agency coordination meeting held today at the crash site's forward command post. The meeting was co-chaired by Johor Internal Security and Public Order Department chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Muhd Zailani Abdullah, and Subang Air Wing deputy commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Lokman Abdul Hadi. Following the meeting, both senior officers conducted an on-site assessment of their Rigid Hull Inflatable high-speed patrol boats ahead of the recovery operation, which will involve Royal Malaysian Navy divers assisted by Marine police Unit Two. Divers have already marked the crash location and were seen today inspecting equipment and preparing for the salvage dive. The coordination meeting involved 25 personnel from key agencies, including the Air Accident Investigation Bureau, Johor Port Authority, Tanjung Pelepas Port, Fire and Rescue Department, Health Ministry and Iskandar Puteri police headquarters. The twin-engine helicopter, registration 9M-PHG, went down last Thursday during a fly-past simulation for the Mitsatom 2025 multilateral nuclear detection exercise involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. Five crew members were injured, with Constable RG Devendran still in critical condition. Corporal Adeline Liu is reportedly improving, while pilot Assistant Commissioner Faizul Muhammad, co-pilot Superintendent Ahmad Bustamin Baharom and Sergeant Siti Latipa Khairuddin remain stable. All are currently receiving treatment at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
