Ahmed hails Media Leadership Programme
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, met participants of the Media Leadership Programme, an initiative launched by the council to develop the second line of government media leaders. The programme is part of the council's broader mission to build a media ecosystem that strengthens Dubai's status as a global media hub. Speaking during the meeting, Sheikh Ahmed said, 'Dubai's progress is the result of ambition, clarity of vision, and a relentless commitment to excellence. It is a story that deserves to be shared with the world. The Media Leadership Programme reflects our commitment to cultivating government communicators who can tell the Dubai story with credibility and conviction, and in ways that resonate with global audiences. The initiative is designed to equip our talent with the skills to craft compelling narratives that capture both our current achievements and future ambitions.' Designed for professionals from 20 government and semi-government entities, the programme provides participants with the skills to lead strategic communication in a rapidly-evolving landscape. It blends academic insight, international best practice, and real-world application to ensure Dubai's government communicators can engage effectively with both regional and global audiences. Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, said, 'Strategic communication is one of the most powerful tools in shaping perception and influence. The programme provides Dubai's emerging leaders with the insight, tools, and global perspective needed to articulate the city's story with confidence. #RamadanInDubai campaign launched
Under the directives and patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office has launched the second edition of the #RamadanInDubai campaign. The innovative campaign is being implemented in partnership with a number of government, semi-government, and private sector entities in Dubai as part of a unified celebration of the Holy Month. #RamadanInDubai aims to showcase the city's unique ambience and capture the true essence of Ramadan, reflecting authentic Emirati customs and traditions. By uniting the efforts of various entities in Dubai, the campaign enhances the collective experience of Ramadan celebrations, bringing its vibrance and joy to people across the city. On this occasion, Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, expressed her appreciation to all partners for their participation in the #RamadanInDubai campaign and their efforts to organise distinctive events and activities that enrich the Ramadan festivities. The campaign supports the goals of the 'Year of Community' initiative, announced by the UAE leadership, to strengthen cooperation, foster a sense of belonging, celebrate shared experiences, and preserve cultural heritage, Al Marri noted. 'The second edition of the campaign reflects Dubai's growing global profile as a model for diversity and inclusivity. It aligns with the city's deeply rooted commitment to fostering tolerance, compassion, and coexistence while celebrating traditions passed down through generations,' Al Marri said. 'Building on the success of its inaugural edition last year, the campaign continues to bring together Ramadan initiatives and events under one umbrella, presenting them through innovative storytelling and creative engagement. 'By leveraging diverse platforms, it offers both local and global audiences a unique window into Dubai's Ramadan festivities that bring people from all backgrounds together in a vibrant celebration of generosity, togetherness and cultural traditions. The initiative also further reinforces Dubai's status as a global destination offering distinctive cultural experiences,' she added. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, also expressed her appreciation for the strong collaboration and engagement of all campaign partners. She noted that this exemplary teamwork was key to the campaign's success in its first edition last year. The spirit of collaboration remains a cornerstone of Dubai's achievements across various fields, she said.

Sheikh Ahmed opens landmark 50th edition of Arab Health
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, on Monday opened the 2025 Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare industry event in the Middle East. Celebrating its landmark 50th edition with the theme, 'Where the World of Healthcare Meets,' the exhibition is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from Jan.27 to Jan.30, 2025. Showcasing a staggering array of healthcare products and services, the event has attracted over 3,800 exhibitors and is on course to draw more than 60,000 visitors. Sheikh Ahmed commended the unflagging efforts exerted over the course of 50 years that have helped Arab Health emerge as one of the most prestigious global platforms shaping the future of the healthcare sector. He noted that the remarkable scale of regional and global participation in the event, including key industry players, is testament to its status as a driving force in the transformation of the healthcare sector regionally and internationally. Sheikh Ahmed said, "The Arab Health exhibition underlines Dubai's role as a strategic driver for positive transformations across vital sectors, most notably the health sector. This event embodies Dubai's long-term vision of building innovative and comprehensive health systems based on strong international partnerships and platforms that bring together thought leaders and experts in this field." Sheikh Ahmed was accompanied during his tour of the exhibition by Abdulrahman Bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority and Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai; Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority; and Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation. In another highlight, the Lakers and UCLA Health Experience at Arab Health 2025 kicked off on the sidelines, offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to meet Laker Legends Robert Horry and Michael Cooper. The two-day event provides a rare chance to engage with the iconic athletes while gaining valuable insights from UCLA Health's renowned Sports Medicine team, who shared how they support the physical health and peak performance of professional sportspersons. Several of the 10 CME-accredited conferences taking place at Arab Health also opened on Monday. Among them was the highly anticipated 25th Total Radiology Conference, which began with a keynote lecture on radiology's next frontier by Prof. Dr. Giles WL Boland from Brigham and Women's Physician Organisations and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The 8th Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Conference also focused on essential topics such as leadership styles, organisational culture, and resuscitation techniques. Meanwhile, the 24th General Surgery Conference commenced with a series of masterclasses on laser technology, bariatrics, and the prevention and management of complications and the 9th Public Health Conference launched under the theme 'Enabling communities and elevating wellbeing: A global direction for public health' featuring critical insights from organisations including the World Federation of Public Health Associations, Dubai Health Authority, and the Global Institute of Disease Elimination. Other highlights of Arab Health include the Future Health Summit, the Executive Networking Lounge and the Healthcare World Stage. The Transformation Zone will showcase disruptive technologies, new non-CME sessions on women in healthcare, digital health, and investment trends. An extended version of the Arab Health Village also returns, offering a relaxed space to network with plenty of food and beverage options to choose from across the event.
