Iraq and UAE strengthen economic ties at Dubai business forum
Dubai ( – The second UAE-Iraq Business Forum, held on Thursday at Dubai's Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel, marked a renewed push to boost commercial ties between the two nations.
The event was timed with the May 1–2 visit of an Iraqi trade delegation and was jointly organized by the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and the Iraqi Chambers of Commerce.
Bringing together over 170 leading companies from both Iraq and the UAE, the forum served as a vibrant networking hub across multiple sectors such as energy, real estate, tourism, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and logistics. More than 250 business-to-business (B2B) meetings were conducted during the event, opening doors for potential partnerships and investments.
One of the forum's key milestones was the first official session of the UAE-Iraq Business Council. This foundational meeting, co-chaired by Ahmed Waleed Ahmed representing Iraq and Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers, laid the groundwork for deeper economic cooperation and ongoing dialogue between the two business communities.
