The Council of Representatives (Parliament) of Bahrain has been awarded the prestigious Bahrain Digital Content Award (BDCA) 2025 in the category of Inclusion and Empowerment, in recognition of its innovative 'MP Portal' project. The award highlights Parliament's exceptional contribution to digital innovation and its growing role in supporting Bahrain's digital transformation journey. The MP Portal, a platform designed to enhance communication and transparency between MPs and the public, was praised for its impact in driving inclusive digital services and supporting parliamentary work. The award ceremony took place this morning at the Gulf Hotel under the patronage of the Chairman of the Shura Council. Dr. Saqr Al-Shirawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Resources and Services, received the award on behalf of Parliament. The event gathered top national leaders and experts in innovation and digital transformation. BTECH, the Bahrain Technology Companies Society and organizer of the BDCA, stated that the award reflects the quality and real impact of the MP Portal in promoting digital empowerment, aligning with Bahrain's vision of comprehensive digital transformation. This recognition is seen as a result of the forward-looking leadership of Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, whose support for cutting-edge digital initiatives has strengthened the performance and transparency of the parliamentary system. It also celebrates the efforts of Eng. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of Parliament, who has led the development of smart, tech-driven solutions to enhance institutional readiness and work environments. UK Praises Bahrain's Progressive Policies at House of Lords Event

The reception took place on the sidelines of the official visit of His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, the Speaker of Bahrain Parliament, and was attended by senior UK dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the Bahrain Society. Lord Philip Hammond, former UK Foreign Secretary, commended Bahrain for its consistent advocacy of openness and its push for deepening trade and diplomatic ties with the UK. Kingdom congratulates Jordan on Accession Day
Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam and Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh sent two congratulatory cables to Ahmad Al Safadi, Speaker of House of Representatives, and Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, on His Majesty King Abdullah II's accession to the throne anniversary. Al Musallam and Al Saleh praised the depth of the Bahraini-Jordanian bilateral relations and cooperation, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. The Speaker and Chairman also sent similar cables to His Excellency Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan, Jordanian Ambassador to Bahrain.

Expanding Bilateral Cooperation Speaker Al Musallam highlighted the House of Representatives' keen interest in advancing collaboration in all developmental sectors. He stressed the importance of constructive engagement with the UK House of Commons to realize mutual goals and serve the shared interests of both nations and their peoples. Non-oil sectors reach 86 percent of GDP
TDT | Manama His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to financial sustainability and inclusive growth during the opening session of the 'Towards Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Development' forum held on Sunday. Organised by the Shura Council, the session served as a platform to discuss the Kingdom's core economic strengths and long-term development goals. The forum was attended by senior figures including H.E. Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and H.E. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. Leadership Vision H.E. Shaikh Salman credited Bahrain's economic milestones to the strategic leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He stressed that these achievements were shaped by forward-looking financial and economic policies designed to secure fiscal health, drive sustainable development, and enhance national competitiveness.
