Two other everyday vehicles - the popular Citroen Saxo and Peugeot 306 - are predicted to vanish by 2031, according to the survey. The investigation also uncovered that two family hatchbacks are forecast to surpass their rivals in terms of durability. The Vauxhall Astra is anticipated to persist for 174,000 miles, whilst the Ford Focus follows closely at 173,000 miles. Meanwhile, the well-regarded Volkswagen Polo is estimated to survive for 155,000 miles, securing fifth place in the 'miles per pound' league table - motors that deliver maximum mileage for your investment.
