First look at Marks and Spencer Christmas ad starring major White Lotus star

Christmas seems to have come early this year, with a first glimpse at Marks & Spencer's upcoming advert for the festive period. The Christmas advert scene has become something of a battleground over recent years, with retailers like Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and Waitrose all fighting it out for festive supremacy. Last year's M&S Christmas advert featured Dawn French, who came face-to-face with a Christmas fairy (also played by herself) who helped the French and Saunders icon put on a spread for her friends and family. With the year now in its back end, filming is underway for M&S's next offering, which stars White Lotus actress Aimee Lou Wood as the face of Christmas 2025. While fans still have a few months to go until the finished product makes its debut, a series of snaps have previewed what the retailer has up its sleeve… or stocking, as it were. These new images have feature the Sex Education star looking festive on set in a picturesque English town… in spite of the raging heatwave it was shot under. In these images, Aimee Lou can be seen wearing a heavy fur coat as she stands in a fake snow-covered English village, decorated with festive greenery and Christmas accoutrements. Other images show Aimee Lou with other members of the cast, including a man, another woman and young child, as they wander through the snowy scene. In the background of another picture, a fluffy dog can be seen wearing a pair of reindeer antlers. 'It's not just a dog, it's an M&S dog,' Aimee Lou is said to have joked, referencing the supermarket's famous slogan. This year's advert was filmed in the Hertfordshire town of Hatfield. Earlier this week, Hatfield local Chloe Granger shared some insight into what the retailer had planned when she shared a series of pictures from the shoot to her TikTok account. 'M&S have filmed their Christmas TV ad in my home village 🎅🏼🎄' she wrote in the caption to her post. 'It looks so festive, walking around really got me in the mood for Christmas, even though this was happening in the middle of a heatwave 😂 'Can't wait to see the ad!' she, uh, added. The accompanying montage of pictures showed how the streets of Hatfield had been transformed into something out of a Charles Dickens novel. Fake snow lined the streets and pavements, while the pictured houses were decorated with festive wreaths and Christmas presents. The local pub – The Eight Bells – had 'never looked so good,' according to Chloe, with three Christmas trees straddling the door and windows, while greenery adorned the rest of the building. Another of Chloe's snaps showed a group of topless lads walking through the 'snowy' streets, highlighting the contrast between Christmas fantasy and the reality of recent weather. In the comments below Chloe's post, followers were getting into the Christmas spirit, with TikTok user Jodi Gardner writing: 'This actually gave me goosebumps. It looks amazing 🥰' 'It's making me crave winter so much,' said Laura. 'Simply stunning,' said jodixo. More Trending Jamie Dear said: 'Omg my heart!!! This makes me so happy🥹😭' M&S shared last year's Christmas video in November 2024, so there are still a few months to go until we get to see the advert in full. It remains to be seen how they'll fare against heavy-hitter John Lewis, who have stirred the nation into a frenzy ever since their beloved 2011 effort 'Waiting,' which told the story of a young lad and his long wait for the big day. M&S filmed their Xmas ad in my village during the August heatwave.. the pub never looked so good, do you recognise it?

IT may be the fourth heatwave in the UK - but it's already beginning to look a lot like Christmas in one village. While millions of Brits have been flooding to beaches to make the most out of the glorious sunshine, a leafy town in Hertfordshire has been turned into Winter Wonderland. 4 4 According to the locals, Marks & Spencer is currently working on their much-anticipated Christmas ad, which last year featured TV comedy legend Dawn French. The retailer kicked off the festive season with the launch of the video through its social media channels at 9am last November. But while fans still have a while to wait to see the final masterpiece starring Aimee Lou, one local, Chloe Granger, recently shared snaps of her hometown following the festive makeover - so, do you recognise it? Outside the local pub, the popular supermarket had placed several Christmas trees and a huge, rich green garland upon the entrance. The whole street was also covered in fake snow - and the light sky indeed gave it that crispy winter morning feel. The rest of the picturesque buildings, she shared in the video, also featured a variety of ''cute'' decorations to fit the theme. ''Fake snow lining the streets! If only it actually looked like this in winter,'' chuckled Chloe who posts under the username @ itschloegranger. After strolling down the local street, the resident said she was inspired by the decorations - despite it being one of the hottest weeks of the year. ''It looks so festive, walking around really got me in the mood for Christmas, even though this was happening in the middle of a heatwave. ''Can't wait to see the ad!'' M&S reveals SIX different Christmas food adverts featuring comedy legend and music star Chloe - who lives in Hatfield - also shared a hilarious snap where TikTok users could see people walking around topless and in shorts, which made for a rather bizarre contrast. ''It definitely took a sec for my brain to make sense of what I was seeing,'' she chuckled. Chloe added she was ''very ready for the festive season and cooler weather now''. The jaw-dropping transformation of the sleepy town has since taken the platform by storm, racking up close to 570k views in just one day. As almost 45k people gave it a like, more than 190 flooded to comments, where one said: ''It's making me crave winter so much.'' Another chuckled: ''I'd be saying you can use my house as long as i can keep the decorations you put up.'' A third was stunned, writing: ''It's actually mental how these photos make it look like a crispy winter morning at sunrise.'' Someone else chimed in: ''Imagine how hot any actors feel, having to walk down the street in winter clothes, when it's 30 degrees outside.'' 4

After Previously Breaking Down Over Her Body Dysmorphia, Aimee Lou Wood's Paranoia About HBO Bosses Thinking She Was 'Ugly' Has Shattered People's Hearts

Content warning: This post discusses body dysmorphia and body image difficulties. Aimee Lou Wood was undoubtedly one of the standout stars of The White Lotus Season 3, giving a hilarious and heartwarming performance as Chelsea. And in testament to how beloved she is by viewers, many have been saddened by her recent comments about being cast on the Emmy-winning show. In a new interview with GQ, Aimee recalled a paranoid spiral she had during the first week on set after learning that HBO execs were apparently reluctant to cast her — meaning that The White Lotus creator, Mike White, had to fight in order to get her on board. 'Someone told me how much Mike had fought for me. They said 'it had to be you, no matter what HBO said,'' she remembered. 'It was honestly from the nicest place, but my little head goes: 'HBO didn't want me. And I know why HBO didn't want me, it's because I'm ugly. Mike had to say 'Please let me have the ugly girl!' That was the thing that was in my head.' Unfortunately, Aimee's comments are all too relatable — we've all had an experience when you find yourself jumping to conclusions and tearing yourself down. And perhaps for that reason, her words have hit home for a lot of people online. One post on X with over 42,000 likes reads, 'my heart just shattered into a million pieces aimee lou wood you are so so loved.' And in the replies, even more love is pouring out for the British actor. Notably, some users brought up the topic of ' imposter syndrome ' and how it can wreak havoc on our minds. This is something that Aimee Lou has talked about in the past, admitting that she struggled a lot during 'the first few photoshoots' she did in her career. 'I was thinking, 'What the hell am I doing here?' Because I'm not a model, and this isn't my comfort zone at all,'' she told Grazia in 2021. What's more, Aimee Lou's recent comments about feeling 'ugly' are even more heartbreaking when you know how much she's battled with body dysmorphia in the past. During a 2020 interview with Glamour UK, Aimee Lou broke down in tears and had to be comforted by the interviewer while recalling how she used to 'berate' herself. 'I have suffered with body dysmorphia my whole life,' she said, discussing her intimate scenes on Netflix's Sex Education and feeling that she should only eat 'salads' before shooting. 'I was so harsh to myself. I actually wrote on my mirror when I was younger 'fat' in lipstick, so that every day I'd go to it and go, OK, just remind yourself that that's what you are,' she remembered before saying that she's learned to feel empowered by embracing her body. 'Learning that perfection doesn't exist, and that beauty lies in those flaws and those individualities and those nuances — it's just the most liberating thing ever because you're striving for something that doesn't exist…you're never going to look, to you, what you think perfect is until you just go, Oh, I am the way I am,' she said. Once again, Aimee Lou, you are so loved! You can find her full GQ interview here.
